7. can’t wait / can hardly wait 迫不及待,急不可耐
The kids can’t wait to see their mom again .
The students can’t wait for the results of exam .8. inside was the ……是完全倒装句,正常的语序是:the seven dollars and a short note was inside .本句倒装一是因为主语太长,头重脚轻,二是后面的定语从句和先行词分隔太远,易造成误解。
注意:为了表达生动,在“out in, up down, offaway,”等表示方向性的副词或表示地点的介词词组位于句首,且主语又是名词,谓语是表示运动的动词。

A. 在含有非真实条件句的复合句中, 表示一种假设, 需用虚拟语气, 对现在情况的假设, 条件从句中用一般过去时从句中用一般过去时(be 动词用were), 主句用 would/should/could + v.
e.g. If they were here, they would help you.议B. 如果假设情况可能发生,句子用陈述语气,条件从句用一般现在时,主句用将来时。
e.g. If he comes, I’ll bring him a present.????????
If it rains tomorrow, we won’t have a picnic. 议如果一个人露宿街头,不为人所要,不为人所爱,惶恐不安,被社会抛弃……这样的贫困让人心痛,甚至令人无法忍受。
“be shut out” 本义为“被关在外面”,此处意为“被排斥、被孤立(于社会群体之外)” ;
I shut out the memory which was too painful to dwell on.
“that kind of poverty”指的是心灵上的孤独。
“when… society”为时间状语从句,“is”和“feels”为并列谓语,“unwanted”、“unloved”等为过去分词作“feels“的表语。1)“make the home for”意为“为(无家可归的人们)营造一个(温暖的)家园”。
