Teaching aims:
After this lesson, Ss can understand the passage on page4 and get the key information from it.
After this class, Ss can understand and use the following words properly: glasses, jeans, long, nervous, fair, pretty, proud, short, stranger, tall and young.
After this lesson, Ss can describe the what people look like using the words and phrases they have learned.
key point: Ss can describe the appearance and hobby of a person with the following words: glasses, jeans, hobby, proud, tall, young and so on.
Difficult point: Ss can use the phrases like “nervous, proud, can’t wait, love, I feel/am, When I...” to express feelings.
Teaching process
Step one lead in
T shows a short video about physical appearance, and asks Ss what the video is about. Ss answer “physical appearance”
Step two fast-reading
Ss read the passage quickly and find out which is Sally’s photo. T checks the question: Picture A.
Step three careful-reading
Ss read Paragraph 1&2 carefully and answer the following questions:
What colour is Sally’s hair (Fair)
What will Sally carry (A warm coat)
Ss read para3 and tell T or F.
Sally spends a lot of time playing football with her friends at school. (F)
Sally’s brother is good at everything. (T)
Ss read para4 and fill in the blanks.

Teaching reflection
Teachers leave too little time for students to write in class, and students do not communicate much about each other's compositions. Teachers should pay more attention to students who are not active in answering questions and let them participate more in the class.
