Language notes:
1.since 意为“自……以后，自……以来”（1）作为 词，后接过去的某一时间点，（2）作 词,后接过去时态的从句，其主句谓语动词是持续性动词，常与 时态连用。
Eg：They have been here since October. 自从10月以来他们一直在这里
He has taught here since he was twenty years old.
自从他20岁以来他就在这所学校教学
（3）since作为连词，还有“ ”之意，引导原因状语从句
Eg. Since we have no money, we can’t buy it. 既然我们没有钱，我们就不能买它
（4）since作为 词，表示从过去以来、以后或到现在的情形或状态，常与现在完成时态连用。
Eg. He left home two weeks ago and we haven’t heard from him since.
他两周前离开了家，到现在我们一直没有他的消息。
He came to Zhenjiang 6 years ago and has lived here (ever) since.
他6年前来到镇江，从此便住在这里。
2.seem v. 好像，似乎
(1) seem+ Everything seems easy.一切似乎很容易。
(2) seem+ 词 He seemed an honest man.他看上去像是个老实人
(3) seem+ He seems to know everything.他似乎什么都知道
(4) seem +形容词 The maths problem seems to be very difficult to work out.
这道数学题似乎很难解决。
(5) seem like + 词 That seemed like a good idea. 那似乎是个好主意
(6) It seems that +从句 It seems that she is happy with her job.
