第一节 应用文:
Symbol of China in My Eyes
There are many Chinese symbols representing China and its unique culture. Among these
symbols, the Great Wall as one of China’s representative symbols is the best choice. Known for its
length and historical significance, it symbolizes Chinese perseverance and innovation.
The reason why I recommend the Great Wall is that it not only provides an insight into our
civilization, but also reflects our rich past and shapes our present, symbolizing the strength and
spirit of our people. I believe it’s the best representation of China in my eyes due to the values it
expresses and the historical stories it presents.
第二节 读后续写:
I loved reading, but the idea of writing had never occurred to me. When I was in two minds
whether or not to take part in the writing contest, something inside me urged my hand into the air.
Seeing my hand raised, my English teacher and classmates applauded me. But for me, worried that
I might fail again, I felt my throat tighten sitting there. Then suddenly, an idea sprang to my mind,
maybe I could try to write my funny experiences in the orchestra and the glee club. Determined to
be successful this time, I began writing. The next day, I handed in my story to the teacher,
nervously waiting for the result.
The following week, results of the writing contest were put up on the wall. I stood on the
tiptoes to reach the top of the list. With my heart pounded fiercely, I found I got the first prize. I
succeeded this time. A wide excitement took hold of me. I rushed to my share the fantastic news
with my teachers and classmates. My English teacher hugged me, patted me on the shoulder, and
said softly, “where there is a will, there is a way.” But for my failed experiences, I wouldn’t have
become a writer now. It finally dawned on me that there is always a door that is open for you.
Heaven never seals off all the exits.

M: Well, I’ve been into architecture since my family moved to Thailand. I was deeply attracted by

W: Have you visited a lot of buildings
M: Yes. I once lived in a yurt in Kyrgyzstan, a country in Central Asia.

round, but short-term volunteers are not accepted.

W; All aspects. Rescue activities like responding to and collecting injured sea turtles. They do not
happen daily, but we will put them first whenever they occur.
M: Did you feed them

Text 10
When someone asks me “Do you like cooking at home ”, my answer is a big “Yes”. Cooking
at home doesn’t always give you the same excitement as trying a new restaurant, but making your
own meals has its advantages, like saving money and time, and connecting with your loved ones.
To help make cooking at home easier and more enjoyable, I’ve asked experts for some creative
{#{QQABDKQAAgogCgAoAgBAAABRgBCCAUQwVXQACEIKQQkBkhGCAACACKggOGARAFAAEUssAEIAIASSQBFNAABBACAA==}#}#}}
tips.
Leah Johnston says, “Take a little time to create two to three weekly meal plans that you can
change regularly throughout the month.” It’s easy to get bored with repeatedly eating the same
meals. Switching up your weekly meal preparation plans can help keep things exciting. Start with
just dinner, but adding breakfast and lunch will be helpful in the long run.
Besides, according to Dana Ellis Hunnes, look for recipes that use available and affordable
foods you can get at your local market. She also suggests sticking to recipes that don’t require too
many foods to avoid the challenging prep.
If you already have go-to meals that you cook at home often, get re-inspired to cook by
experimenting with unexpected flavors, says Steve Theunissen. So, the next time you make your
favorite dish, consider adding new seasonings. If you want to know more, you can visit my
