作文一
Dear Eric,
I feel delighted to learn that you are going to study in our city as an exchange student.AS for how to adjust yourself to the new school life here quickly,I’d like to give you some advice.
First,I recommend that you learn the school’s rules by reading its handbook first. If possible, you may as well visit the school in advance,so that you will know the school better.Besides,it’s quite necessary to communicate with your classmates and schoolmates, which enables you to make more new friends. What’s more, participating in after-class activities can be of great help too!By doing this, not only can you improve yourself but you will get yourself involved in the group quickly.
I hope you will find the suggestions practical and don’t hesitate to turn to me any time you need help.
Looking forward to your coming.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua
作文二
When we realized it was time to walk home,we found ourselves lost.It was getting darker and darker.I felt so scared that tears rolled down my face again.David tried to comfort me.He told me that he once made some marks on the trees in the forest, which might help us find the way home. Therefore,we made efforts to look for the marks but failed.Having walked anxiously for about an hour in the forest,we didn’t find our way out.
It was completely dark when we saw fireworks(烟花)being set off in the distance. We ran excitedly in that direction as fast as possible.Soon we found my aunt’s house,in front of which my
cousin Kristy was holding some fireworks and lighting them.Seeing us back safe,Kristy cheerfully hugged us.She told us that when noticing we had been away for long, she was concerned about our safety. She set off fireworks to draw our attention and guide us.It was an unforgettable experience. Without David’s comfort and Kristy’s fireworks,I would have lost in the forest forever.富锦市名校2022-2023学年高二下学期期末考试

Many years ago I hated mosquitoes with a passion. I reveled at killing those little bloodsuckers. one day, I told my wife proudly that I had just killed 10 with one slap. She told me that few bothered her. They regularly didn't.
Puzzled about this, I asked, “ why me ” She turned to face me and said, “ Because you hate them!” I laughed, “ So tell me something I don t know.” She explained that the little creatures were simply returning my hatred in kind. She suggested that if I sent them loving thoughts they would respond accordingly.
I took her up on her challenge. It took me several days to even accept the idea that both mosquitoes and I deserved to live on the same planet. Then after a week or two I was ashamed of my killing. I frequently apologized mentally to all their kind. Strangely, I began to appreciate their uniqueness and study them closely. To my amazement, when I asked them individually or in mass not to land on me, they took off.
The master teacher, my wife, was amazed that her student had done better than her own occasional kill of them. Together we amazed other hikers covered with DEET(驱蚊胺)and yet still got swarmed. They would ask, “ What do you have on that none are bothering you ” We would say , “We do wear love.”

When dogs get lonely, they like keeping themselves busy by making a big mess around the house, and they doesn't really sit well with their owners. That's why one German radio host, who also happens to be a dog owner came up with the idea for a program designed to relax dogs and make them feel like they aren't alone.
When 30-year-old Stephan Stock,a radio host at RadioTon, in Germany's Baden-Württemberg region, announced the creation of a program aimed at dogs, everyone thought it was just a clever April Fools' Day trick. However, it wasn't. For the past three and a half months,“Hallo Hasso”has been pumping out music for lonely dogs both on the radio and online.
Stock says he was inspired to create the special program by his pet dog,Layla, who would sometimes get so bored when left alone that she would keep herself busy by making a big mess around the house. He and his colleagues at RadioTon started researching what kind of music usually appeals to dogs, and learned that it should have as little drum and electric guitar as possible, and should be very slow.
“It's not about keeping dogs quiet,”Stock said about Hallo Hasso. “It's more about the dog
feeling he’s not alone. ”He adds that Layla isn't as restless since listening to Hallo Hasso, and has
become relatively quiet, even letting him take a nap(打盹)to the music from the radio.
Hallo Hasso is only available in Baden-Württemberg, via radio, but if you'd like to see if it can calm your four-legged pet, the program can also be accessed online here. Just press the “play”arrow at the top of the page and let the music work its magic. If this doesn't work, there's always Dog TV.

A.To comfort lonely dogs. B.To keep dogs interested in music.
C.To prevent dogs causing damage. D.To appeal to audience to take care of dogs.

A.A former radio program. B.His own life experience.
C.His colleagues' suggestion. D.A slow music with little drum and electric guitar.

It's an unquestioned truth of modern life:we are starved for time. We try our best to save bits of time here and there. Add it up, and we will finally get to everything we want to do. But this idea has been completely backward. 36 We build the lives we want, and then time saves itself.
Do we really have no time? “I don’t have time,”often means“It’s not a priority(优先事项).”Time is highly flexible. We cannot make more time. However, time will stretch(延展)to accommodate what we choose to put into it. No one will leave the broken water heater aside. So not doing something is not a matter of lacking time; 37 Actually, it's a matter of choice.
How do we treat our priorities First, we need to figure out what our priorities are. Actually we may give ourselves a performance review. What three to five things did we do that made it so amazing Next,we can write them into next year's performance review. We will have a list of six to ten goals we can work on in the next year. 38
39 Scientists find a really good time to do this is Friday afternoon. Friday afternoon is what an economist might call a “low opportunity cost” time. Most of us are not sitting there on Friday afternoons saying, “I am excited to make progress toward my personal and professional priorities right now.” But we are willing to think about what those should be. So take a little bit of time Friday afternoon, and make ourselves a three-category priority list:career, relationships, self.
It's about looking at the whole of one's time and seeing where the good aspects can go. There is time. 40 .And when we focus on what matters, we can build the lives we want in the time we've got.
A. We don't build the lives we want by saving time.
B.Even if we are busy, we have time for what matters.
C.And then we need to break these down into doable steps.
D.it's that I'm too busy for it.
E. it's that I don't want to do it.
F.When do we plan our priorities
G. Make sure there's time for the important things.

It was the middle of the day with the bright sun, blue sky, green grass, and a soft breeze(微风).It was a great day to play outside and the best day of my life because I got a new ball and a new bike as my sixth birthday presents, and I was visiting my cousin,Kristy,at her house.
“Here I go!”shouted David while kicking my new ball. David lived next door and was older than me.I thought he was a wild child, but he was actually very kind. The ball went flying as if it were going to space.“That was high!”Kristy said in surprise and we went after the ball. We all had a great time.
Later we had supper and the food my aunt made was good. While Kristy was helping do the dishes, David and I ran outside to play. We started taking turns riding my bike. David suggested that we ride it to the forest. And I agreed. David and I got on the bike and David started riding fast.
As we rode through the forest, I felt the wind brushing my face. It felt so great and free. Suddenly the bike hit a fallen branch and we went flying off the bike. Lying on the ground,I felt dizzy(眩晕的).I checked myself for injuries and saw some but they didn't upset me.
“David!" I shouted out anxiously.
“Hey,”said a voice. I turned my head and it was David, who was standing behind me, holding my broken bike. At the sight of my disabled bike, I was so sad that I couldn't hold back my tears. It took David some time to calm me down.
