Once I spoke at a high school. After the speech, I was asked to see a special student. An illness had kept the boy at home, but he had expressed an interest in meeting me, and it would mean a great deal to him. I agreed. He was Matthew. When he was born, the doctor told his parents that he would not live to see five; then they were told he would not make it to ten. Now he was thirteen. He wanted to meet me because I was a gold-medal weight lifter, and I knew about overcoming obstacles and going for my dreams.
I spent over an hour talking to Matthew. Never once did he complain (抱怨). He spoke about winning and succeeding and going for his dreams. He knew what he was talking about. He just talked about his hopes for the future, and how one day he wanted to lift weight with me.
When we finished talking, I went to my briefcase and pulled out the first gold medal I won and put it around his neck. I told him he was more of a winner and knew more about success and overcoming obstacles than I ever would. He looked at it for a moment, then took it off and handed it back to me. He said, “You are a champion. You earned that medal. Someday when I get to the Olympics and win my own medal, I will show it to you.”
Last summer I got the news that Matthew had died and a letter Matthew had written to me a few days before:
Dear Rick,
My mom said I should send you a thank-you letter for the picture you sent me. The doctors tell me that I don't have long to live any more. But I still smile as much as I can.
I told you someday I was going to the Olympics and win a gold medal. But I know now I'll never make it. But I know I'm a champion.
Thank you for loving me.
Your friend,
Matthew

One day, my brother and I were alone in our apartment. The reason was that my parents had both gone for a ball party and had left me in charge of everything. I was doing my homework while my younger brother was watching TV. All of a sudden, the doorbell rang. Ding-Dong! Ding-Dong! My younger brother had rushed to the door before I decided to answer the door. We both thought that our parents had come home. As a result, he unlocked the door and opened it.
Outside of the house stood a man who wore a black raincoat and black rubber boots. He looked no different from other people and he said that he was a salesman and asked politely if our mother or father was at home.
Without any thinking, my brother said, “No.” He asked if we would like to buy some comic books, which he was selling. I quickly explained to him that we were not supposed to buy anything without our parents' permission. However, it seemed that he was not willing to follow my advice and he had an intention to enter our house.
Then, I realized something terrible would happen. As I was about to close the door, he forced his way into our house. He took out a knife and forced me to tie up my brother's hands with some rope which he took out from his pocket. I tied up his hands but I tied it in a special way so my brother could untie the rope as we often did. The man then tied my hands up and locked both of us in the kitchen.
Soon, he went upstairs to search the bedroom for something valuable. I managed to teach my brother to untie the rope on his hands. He then untied my rope. I rushed to the telephone to call the police, but the line was dead.

And as a result, the man was caught.
Paragraph 2:
Just at the same time our parents came back home. The police asked my family to go to the police station. The police told us that the man was a wanted robber pretending to sell comic books and they had been looking for him for a long time. The police praised my brother and me for our bravery. After we went back home, I told my parents the whole story about the robbery.
Your friend,
Matthew

“Our aim is to take our art to the world and make people understand what it is to move,” said David Belle, the founder of parkour.
Do you love running It is a good exercise, yet many people find it boring. But what if making your morning jog a creative one Like jumping from walls and over gaps, and ground rolls Just like James Bond in the movie Casino Royale Bond jumps down from a roof to a windowsill and then runs several blocks over obstacles on the way.It is just because of Bond's wonderful performances that the sport has become popular worldwide.
Yes, that's parkour, an extreme street sport aimed at moving from one point to another as quickly as possible, getting over all the barriers in the path using only the abilities of the human body.Parkour is considered an extreme sport. As its participants dash around a city, they may jump over fences, run up walls and even move from rooftop to rooftop.
Parkour can be just as exciting and charming as it sounds, but its participants see parkour much more than that.
Overcoming all the obstacles on the course and in life is part of the philosophy behind parkour. This is the same as life. You must determine your destination, go straight, jump over all the barriers as if in parkour and never fall back in your life, to reach the destination successfully.A parkour lover said, “I love parkour because its philosophy has become my life, my way to do everything.”

Researchers then found 130 people to make up a second group.Within this group, 75 people were aged from 57 to 80.The other 55 were between the ages of 20 to 36.The people in this group were also healthy, but they didn't exercise regularly. We will call this group the “non-exercisers”.Smokers, heavy drinkers of alcohol and people with other health problems were not included in the study.
Then, researchers gave both groups a series of tests. They tested their muscle mass (肌肉质量), muscular strength, percentages of body fat and the strength of their immune systems. Then the researchers compared the results of the two groups.
Results showed that the cyclists didn't experience body changes usually regarded as a normal aging process. For example, they didn't lose muscle mass or muscular strength. Also, their body fat didn't increase with age.The researchers also found something they had not expected. The study showed that the immune systems of the cyclists didn't age either. The researchers advise us all to find an exercise that we like in our lives.
