教材分析 John和陈洁在Let’s learn中继续参观动物园。他们看到了鸵鸟，并描述它的样子，由此引出重点词汇：small, big, short, long. 这四个词汇在前边几课时的学习中已经出现，学生理解不成问题，主要是帮助他们达到认读的程度。Let’s do和A部分的Let’s do相似，是个与身体部位与形容相关的指令性TPR活动。主要内容是把眼睛睁大、眯小，把胳膊伸长、缩短。在活动中练习本课的四个重点单词。 对于这样内容相对比较容易理解，学生又比较感兴趣的教学内容，可以多设计游戏活动，让学生在多种形式，多种层次的活动中快乐地学习、操练，达到预定的教学目标。

Presentation 呈现目标词big.学生先听后模仿发音，借助已学元音字母i的发音规律引导学生自主读出目标词的正确发音。 学生逐个认读单词并注意纠音。 引导学生用目标词造句并板书It has a big body. I will say one of them. You should do correct action to show it. 游戏：I say you do the opposite actions。教师说单词，请学生做出相反的动作。 Teacher: This time, I will say the words. You do the opposite actions. 4.Listen and number.听与28页内容相关的对话音频，学生给相应单词标序号。 5.Listen and repeat the text. 6.Read aloud. Listen and act out the words. Listen and number. Read the text. 利用这样两个游戏来操练新授单词。第一个游戏主要考验学生能不能听懂单词的意思，并做出正确的反应。第二个游戏在考验学生能否听懂单词的基础上，还需要学生能够正确说出单词。 此游戏要求学生能够集中注意力，同时能够认读重点单词。 此活动检验学生对于单词的字形的熟悉程度，同时借助多听来培养学生抓取关键信息的能力。
