原因状语从句
如果从句表示的是主句行为的原因, 就构成原因状语从句。原因状语从句由表示原因的连词引导, 常用的是because, 一般放在主句之后，但加以强调时，可放句首。
e.g. He failed the exam because he was too careless. (翻译)
他太粗心了, 所以没通过考试。
原因、目的、结果状语从句
since因为; 既然。也可以用来引导原因状语从句, 表示显然的或已为人所知的理由。
e.g. Since everyone is here, let’s start. (翻译)
既然大家都到齐了, 我们就开始吧。
目的状语从句
如果从句表示的是主句行为的目的, 该从句就是目的状语从句。目的状语从句可以由so that引导。特点：从句中一般都含有表示可能性的词语, 比如could。其他可以表示可能性的词语还有will, would, can等。
e.g. I got up very early so that I could get to school on time.
Mulan dressed like a man so that she could join the army. (翻译)

结果状语从句
结果状语从句由so引导的, 表示由主句行为而导致的结果。
e.g. He worked too hard, so he fell ill again. (翻译)

Yuan Longping is my favorite scientist. He is one of the most famous scientists in China. He was named “the Father of Hybrid Rice”.
He was born in Beijing in 1930. From 1950 to 1953, he studied in Southwest Agricultural College. In 1960, he saw people die of hunger, so he decided to find a way of growing a better kind of rice. In 1964, he made a special study of rice. In 1974, he developed a new kind of rice.
To help more people, he travelled around the world and gave advice about growing rice in the 1980s. In 2004, he won World Food Prize.
