Can you /he /they+动词原形…?
2.接受邀请:表示接受邀请,可以说“Sure, I’d love to.” 或者说:“Sure, I think he/she/they will.” “Sure. That sounds good.”
替他人拒绝时,可以回答“No, he/she/they can’t.”或者“He/She isn’t. They aren’t available.” 然后再用“have to”或“be+ v.-ing”来说明理由。
have to 必须;不得不
I have to help my parents.
We don’t have to go to school on weekends.
Did Mary have to get up early last Sunday
【have to与must用法辨析】
由have to构成的句子,变为一般疑问句要借助动词do/does/did。

提示语:be out on business 出差
信的开头可用thank you very much for inviting me… I’d love to go but I can’t予以礼貌拒绝,随后并逐一陈述原因。
Dear Jim,
Thank you very much for inviting me to your birthday party. I’d love to go but I can’t. My parents are out on business. They are coming back next week. And now I have to look after my grandpa because he is ill in bed. And I also need to study for my coming math exam. I’m very sorry that I can’t go to your party. Thank you for asking me. I hope you can have a good time.
Yours
Lily
Thank you!
