单元主题意义 本单元的主题属于“人与社会 ”范畴，本单元是《新目标英语》系列教材之一!第二单元的内容，本单元介绍了国内外不同的节日，文化气息浓郁，教学内容丰富。本单元一同学们熟悉的传统节日开始，而且八年级已经学过一些相关的内容，素材来源于学生生活，同学们就有表达的欲望和诉求。而教材中Section B又围绕西方的两个节日展开，侧重两个节日的文化内涵，让学生更深层次地理解西方文化。这也激发了学生的学习兴趣，提高了他们的学习效率。 通过对本单元的学习，最终使学生能够明白关爱、同情及怜悯之心是人类社会的宝贵财富，人人应当将之继承及弘扬，以爱心汇报社会；同时，通过中西方文化差异对比，树立文化自信。

教材（语篇）分析： 【what】 本节课是一节听说课。首先通过节日图片向学生呈现中国的传统节日，回忆这些节日的名称以及与这些节日有关的文化专属用语，并引入相关短语。 【why】 这是本单元的第一课时，应该提示学生听说能力，让他们体会本单元主题语言及文化内容，建立一定的感性认识。 【how】 因为这是本单元的第一课时，在整个单元中起着话题导入，帮助学生热身的作用，内容贴近学生生活，课堂任务应侧重于培养学生的语言实践能力。 同时通过简单的听力活动输入新的语言，发展学生的听说能力。
学情分析： 自然情况 在学习本单元之前，学生在七年级和八年级已经学习过一些中外节日的词汇和句型。 （二）已有基础 对于本课时的学习内容，大部分学生已经有了一定的了解，而且中外节日是学生比较感兴趣的话题，这是学习本课的优势。
（三）存在问题
到了九年级，学生出现分化现象，由对学生语言基础薄弱，语言拓展的运用能力比较差，而且学习缺乏耐性。 （四）解决措施 教师可以安排这些同学通过复习七年级和八年级相关内容，熟悉本单元话题，鼓励学生积极学习，激发学习兴趣。
教学目标： 通过本课学习，学生能够： 学生能学会重点词汇以及目标语言。 （学习理解） 重点单词及短语：mooncake , lantern, stranger , relative, pound , put on , in two weeks , sound like , be similar to , throw water at each other , wash away , have good luck . 目标语言：-Bill thinks that the races were not that interesting to watch . But I believe that April is the hottest month of the year there.
