My darling McGeorge,
You said that things seemed clearer when they were written down. Well, here with a very boring letter in which I will try to put everything down so that you may read and re-read, at horror, at your folly, in getting involved with me.
Deep breath.
—— All this I want to do with you
be/get involved with vp. 与…相关联;牵涉(此处译为与我相爱)
To begin with, I love you with a depth and passion that I have felt for no one else in this life and if it astonishes you, it astonishes me as well. Not, I hasten to say, because you are not worthy of loving. Far from it.
It’s just that, first of all, I swore I would not get involved with another woman.
—— All this I want to do with you
be/get involved with vp. 与…相关联;牵涉(此处译为与…相爱)
I know what it's like to feel alone
When you walk through the door, no one's home
then I see, you grab the wheel again
Tied and you just try to find a friend
When the air feels too thin
and the nights get too long
Light up your stereo and play this song
Oh, oh, oh, when you need a friend
I will be your friend
When you feel like the tide's coming in
And the easiest thing is drowning
Take all your strength yeah
and fight through the waves
As hard as it is just don't be afraid
When the pain feels too deep
and the nights get too long
Light up your stereo and play this song
Oh, oh, oh, when you need a friend
I will be your friend
When you need a friend

Who will you share your feelings and secrets with
Are people different in their diaries

What do you think ‘a true good friend’ should be like
June 12, 1942
I hope I will be able to confide everything to you, as I have never been able to confide in anyone, and I hope you will be a great source of comfort and support.
I was awake at six o’clock, which isn’t surprising, since it was my birthday. But I’m not allowed to get up at that hour, so I had to control my curiosity until quarter to seven. When I couldn’t wait any longer, I went to the dining room, where Moortje (the cat) welcomed me by rubbing against my legs. A little after seven I went to Daddy and Mama and then to the living room to open my presents, and you were the first thing I saw, maybe one of my nicest presents.
COMMENT ADDED BY ANNE ON SEPTEMBER 28, 1942: So far you truly have been a great source of comfort to me, and so has Kitty, whom I now write to regularly. This way of keeping a diary is much nicer, and now I can hardly wait for those moments when I’m able to write in you. Oh, I’m so glad I brought you along!
