Good evening everyone,
I’ m really honoured to have a chance to be here to make a speech.
As we all know, in our daily life, getting burnt is very common, which may be caused by various things, such as radiation, hot liquids, steam and electricity or other chemicals. There are three types of burns, including first degree burns, second degree burns and third degree burns. Each of them has its own characteristics. For example, if your skin turn white when pressed, you get first degree burns. If your skin have blisters, watery surface, you get second degree burns. If your skin become black and white and sometimes the tissue underneath can be seen, it is likely that you get third degree burns. Once you get burns, don’t be too panic and try six- step first aid treatment. Place burns under cool running water. Dry the burnt area with a clean cloth. Remove any clothes, but keep it in mind that never touch the fabric sticking to the burnt area. Cover the burnt area with a loose clean cloth. And make sure the victim can breathe. Lastly, if the burns are very serious, it is necessary to send the victim to the hospital immediately.
Being the largest organ, our skin is very important to our body. We’d better protect it and learn some first aid treatment. Of course, if you can avoid getting burnt, it would be wise. Wish you good health.
1. Polish your speech by adding more information. Then share it with your classmates and make a feedback.
2. Surf the Internet and find out the first aid treatment for other urgent situations, such as choke, snake bite, a sprained ankle.
