Language notes:
1. I have to tell you that I had the flu.
flu意为“ ”,是非正式用语,指流行性感冒;cold意为“ ”,一般泛指因着凉而伤风;have the flu意为“患流感”。类似的短语还有: (得感冒),have a headache(头疼),have a cough(咳嗽)。

know 指“认识,了解, 知道”，是延续性动词，可以和表示一段时间的状语连用
