Unit 2 I’m Wang Lingling and I’m thirteen years old.
一、Teaching material analyzing:
本模块以“Introducing yourself”为话题,重点学习一般现在时S+be结构,介绍姓名、年龄、来自何地的表达法以及英美国家姓名的不同表达方式。
本节课主要通过阅读和写作活动学习介绍个人信息的方法。活动1通过问答练习复习前一单元所学获取和介绍个人信息的交际技能。活动2、3要求学生阅读有关自我介绍的三篇短文并完成正误判断、填写表格两个任务。活动4—6要求学生根据所学知识写句子介绍自己或他人的信息,并学会运用and连接这些信息。
二、Students analyzing:
学生在Unit 1 中已学习了介绍、询问个人信息的方法,也掌握了关于年龄、来自何地的表达法。在教师预设的任务中,引导学生在交际中动态生成,学生有话可说,乐于合作分享。Unit 2阅读材料为自我介绍的三篇短文,教师引导学生运用课本知识,用所学知识写句子介绍自己或他人,达到提高综合运用语言能力的目的。

3. Teaching procedures:
Step 1 . Warming-up
1. Greetings and free talk .
Step2 .Reading, check and correct .
1.Let the students read the sentences in Activity 1 and put the sentences in the correct order. Then check the answers .
2. Ask students to read Para1 and check the true sentences, then correct the false sentences .。
(1) Henry is Daming’s English name. ( × )
David is Daming’s English name.
(2) Lingling’s English name is Linda. ( √ )
(3) Daming is twelve years old . ( √ )
2)Read Para2 and check the true sentences, then correct the false sentences .
.(4) Wang Hui is from Beijing. ( × )
Wang Hui is from Shanghai .
3)Read Para3 and check the true sentences, then correct the false sentences .
(4) Tony is twelve years old. ( × )
Tony is thirteen years old.

Step3 .Reading again, underline and correct .
Ask students to read the passage in activity 2 on page 4 again , underline and correct .
Smith is Tony’s first / last name, and Tony is his first / last name. He’s from Cambridge. In Tony’s class, Tony and Lingling are thirteen years old and everyone / Daming is twelve / thirteen years old. Lingling is Daming’s student / friend.
Then check the answers .
Step4 .Reading and complete the table .
1. Ask students to read the passage in activity 2 on page 4 again , then complete the table in activity 3 on page 5.
2. After a few minutes, check the answers with the whole class.
Step 5 .Language Points
1. capital (show a picture of Bejing) ,and teach the word “capital ,
the capital of … 表示……的首都/省会 e.g Beijing is the capital of China
2. Good to see you. 很高兴见到你!
此句为熟人之间见面常用的问候语, 还可以说:Nice to see you. / Glad to see you. / Pleased to see you.
3. Tony is my first name and Smith is my last name.
Tony first name / given name
Smith last name / family name
4. It’s nice to see you all.
句中all为代词,意思“每个,全体” e.g All the students are here today.
Step 6 . Watch a video (Activity 2)
Students watch a video and read after it in a silence .
Step 7. Retell
1.Divide students into three groups ,and one group retell a paragraph.
2. After a few minutes, ask students from each group to retell .
Step 8.Writing
1.Look at the pictures and write sentences. ((Activity 5)
(1) Ask a student to read the sentences about Tom ,then ask the students to write sentences about Zihan .
(2) After a few minutes, ask students to say his /her sentences .
2.Write sentence about yourself.
(1) Ask students to write sentence about themselves .
(2) After a few minutes, ask 2-3 students to come to the front and say sentence about themselves
Homework
采访两个你的新同学,分别问他们以下几个问题:What’s your name Where are you from How old are you What’s your favourite subject 将你的采访记录整理成一篇为My new classmates的短文。
