Compared with watching a film at the cinema, watching a film at home is often more convenient, more comfortable, and less expensive. All you need to do is pick a great film, make your space ready, and prepare some delicious snacks. This article will give you some tips on how to select a film.
①_____ Maybe you want to enjoy your film by yourself, or maybe you want to watch with some friends or family members. It's up to you. Pay attention! Watching a film with others can be exciting. ②_____
Pick a film genre(类型). If you are watching alone, simply pick the genre that you're in the mood to watch. If you are stressed, a comedy could help you relax. If you want some excitement, go for a horror film. On the other hand, deciding on a genre as a group can be hard, particularly for diverse groups. When in doubt, pick a popular genre, like adventure or comedy. Search for available films within the genre. Search for films within your own collection, or take a look at the options online. For each film you consider, check out online reviews to get a better idea of the content and quality of the film. ③_____ This can take forever if you're not careful, and then you'll have less time to enjoy the film. Give yourself 20 minutes at most.
④_____ If you are watching a film with kids, be certain to check film ratings to help you find age appropriate content. While ratings can guide your selection, they aren't meant to provide all the answers. ⑤_____ Reading a couple of different online sources can help you determine whether a film is suitable.
Take turns or vote if you can't decide on a film. If you are enjoying your film with others, ask the people who are watching with you. If you can't reach an agreement, try taking a vote. If watching a film together is a regular event with your family or friend group, different group members can take turns picking the film each time.
A.You should do research on your own as well.
B.But you can feel free to choose your favourite one if you watch a film by yourself.
C.Decide if you want company.
D.Check film ratings if you are watching with children.
E.Prepare your space.
F.It also means that you could choose your favourite films.
G.Set a time limit for film research.

A study suggested a trip to the theater, museum or art gallery could help you live longer, and the more often, the better. Researchers from University College London (UCL) found that people who engaged in the arts more frequently had a 31% lower risk of dying early when compared to those who didn't. Even going to the theater or museum once or twice a year was linked with a 14% lower risk.
"While exercises are undoubtedly thought to be good for health, these leisure and pleasure activities are often considered to have nothing to do with good health," said Fancourt, an associate professor of UCL.
How often an individual engaged in the arts, including exhibitions, concerts and operas but not the cinema, was measured at the start of the study. The study analyzed a range of economic, health and social factors to try to explain why there was a link between taking part in leisure activities and living longer. Part of the reason came down to social and economic differences among those people. Wealth, they found, explained about 9% of the association. Cognitive(认知的) differences, social engagement and mental health also played a role.
"Engagement in the arts can reduce stress and build creativity that allows people to adapt to changing circumstances. It also helps people build social capital—accessing emotional support. A greater sense of purpose could also play a role. If more evidence can be found, we are getting an increasingly rich picture of how engagement in the arts can benefit health. It can have wide-ranging benefits and help healthier people live longer," said Fancourt.
World Health Organization's review of available evidence also showed that both passive participation, like visiting a museum, and active participation, like singing in a choir, had health benefits.
7.What did the study suggest

8.Which of the following activities was not included in the study
A. Going to the theater. B. Attending a concert.
C. Visiting the museum. D. Watching a movie.
9.What can we infer from the text
A. Engagement in the arts depends on whether we have free time.
B. Social and economic differences affect our engagement in the arts greatly.
C. Participating in the arts can bring us many health benefits.
D. This study is all about active participation.

Do you still remember the scene in the famous movie Titanic, directed by Cameron, where Jack was frozen to death in the icy cold water so that Rose could survive(存活) on the floating(浮) door alone It broke many people's hearts.
Twenty years later, people are still asking the question, "Wasn't there enough room on the door for both of them "
Cameron once responded by saying it wasn't a question of room, but buoyancy(浮力)—if both of them had tried to stay on the raft(木排), he argued, the whole thing would sink(沉没).
But several guys from "MythBusters", an Australian-American science entertainment television program, decided to test the theory themselves. They discovered that if Rose had took off her life jacket to the bottom of the raft, there would have been enough buoyancy to keep both of them afloat.
When they presented their findings to Cameron, the director insisted that Jack couldn't be saved.
"The answer is very simple," Cameron said. "Because it says on Page 147 of the script(剧本) that Jack dies." To Cameron, it was an artistic choice to have the beloved character of millions, Jack, sink into the cold sea. Jack had to die because Cameron thought it would be best.
"It was an artistic choice, the thing was just big enough to hold her, and not big enough to hold him,'' Cameron said. "I think it's all kind of silly, really, that we're having this discussion 20 years later. But it does show that the film was effective in making Jack so beloved by the audience that it hurts them to see him die. The film is about death and separation; he had to die."
Since Jack had to die, Cameron said, it could have happened in a variety of different ways. It's not about the door not being big enough: that's just a practical method for his death. "Whether it was that, or whether a chimney fell on him, he was going down," Cameron said. "It's called art: things happen for artistic reasons, not for physics reasons."
10. What do we know about the character Jack according to the text
A. He wanted to kill himself.
B. He gave up his own life to save Rose.
C. He didn't have money to buy the ticket.
D. He lacked basic knowledge of physics.
11. According to Cameron, why did the audience argue about Jack's death for 20 years
A. They are weak people. B. They don't like the movie.
C. They love the character Jack. D. They are crazy about physics.
12. Why was a chimney mentioned in the last paragraph
A. To introduce how the ship was built.
B. To show the original plan of the movie.
C. To present the missing part of the movie.
D. To explain the unchangeable fate of Jack.
13. What is the best title of the text
A. Jack in Titanic Must Die. B. Big Enough for Both.
C. Cameron Is Wrong. D. Jack Could Survive.
1.答案:were having
2.答案:have been discussing
3.答案:has arrived
4.答案:has covered
5.答案:is going to/will attend
7.答案:A
根据第一段中的"a trip to the theater, museum or art gallery could help you live longer, and the more often, the better"可知,参加艺术活动能够延年益寿。 故选A。
How often an individual...but not the cinema, was measured at the start of the study"可知,该研究不包括看电影。故选D。
Engagement in the arts can reduce stress and build creativity...accessing emotional support"可知,参加艺术活动可以给我们带来很多健康益处。故选C。
根据第一段中的“Jack was frozen to death in the icy cold water so that Rose could survive on the floating door alone(Jack被冻死在冰冷的水中是为了Rose能一个人在漂浮的门板上活下来)”可知,答案是B项(Jack为救Rose而牺牲自己)而不是A(他想自杀)、C(他没钱买票)或D(他缺乏基本的物理知识)。
根据倒数第二段中的“But it does show that the film was effective in making Jack so beloved by the audience that it hurts them to see him die(但那确实表明,这部电影有效地把Jack塑造得让观众非常喜爱,以至于看到他死去他们感到心痛)”可知,观众之所以争论Jack的死,是因为他们喜欢Jack这个角色(C项),不是因为他们是软弱的人(A项),不是因为他们不喜欢这部电影(B项),也不是因为他们痴迷于物理(D项)。
根据最后一段中的“Since Jack had to die, Cameron said, it could have happened in a variety of different ways. It's not about the door not being big enough: that's just a practical method for his death.(Cameron说,既然Jack必须死,那可能就有各种不同的方式死去。不是门板够不够大的问题:那不过是一种对于他来说可行的死亡方式。)”可推断,提及烟囱只是要解释Jack不可改变的死亡命运。A项:介绍船是怎么建造的;B项:展示电影原先的计划;C项:呈现电影缺失的部分。这三项显然与原文不符。
13.答案:A
