Teaching procedures Step 1 Import 1. The teacher is wearing a business card with an English name on it and points to it Introduced. 2. Say hello to the class and help them say, "Hello... Good morning..." Step 2 Play a game. The teacher is going to get a list of English names for boys and girls. Play the game like this: The teacher says a letter, such as C, and then asks the student to say which letter comes before and after C. B first, D is the winner. The winner can have the opportunity to choose an English name first, or he can give this opportunity to his friend. Step 3 Present Show a picture of a girl and write her name under the picture to teach Alice. Teach the other seven in the same way. Step 4 Games Show pictures of these eight kids as fast as you can. Ask the students to name the children. (The winner will have the opportunity to choose an English name.) Step 5 Present Show the picture of Eric and ask the students to guess what Eric wants to say to us. The answer is: Hello! Or good morning. Then help them say: Hello, Eric! Or good morning, Eric. Step 6 Complete 1a The first time the recording was played, the students only listened. Play the recording again. Repeat SS. Step 7 Complete 1b Have the students practice the conversation in pairs. T is walking around the classroom while s is practicing. Give them some help if you need it. Have the students practice greeting each other. They can use their Chinese names if they wish. Encourage them to use their English names if possible. Have them practice using all the different greetings taught in Activity 1a. homework Make your own business card like a teacher and learn how to pronounce your name.
