How can we divide these things

In English, we can count some things, e.g. rivers and mountains.
We cannot count other things, e.g. water and air.

Work out the rule
(Countable/Uncountable) nouns can have plurals.
We can use a or an before (countable/uncountable) nouns.
Uncountable nouns only take (singular/plural) verbs.

There be 句型中,be动词的单复数遵循“就近原则”
