watch意为“观看；观察”，通常指有目的地、集中注意力地观看或注视，常用于看电视，体育活动或比赛等。 read意为“读；看”，通常指读书、看报。 look是不及物动词，意为“看；瞧”，强调看的动作，不强调结果。若后接宾语，要接 at。 see是及物动词，常与一些名词构成相关词组。see单独使用时，意为“看到”，强调结果。
辨析
I look at the sky, but I can’t see anything.

However
放在句首或句中,后面用“,”与其他句子成分隔开;
however用的场合比较正式,多用于书面语,而but常用于口语,语气更强些,一般位于所引出的分句之前。
We tried our best, however, we lost the game.

thank ... for ... 意为“因……而感谢……”，相当于 thanks for ...。
for 后跟名词，代词或 v.-ing 形式, 表示感谢的原因。

grandparents’是名词所有格,其中“’”表示“……的”。名词所有格的用法:
(1)单数名词词尾加“‘s”,复数名词词尾没有s,要加“‘s”。

(2)若名词是复数形式,且以字母s结尾,只加“’”。
