Hello everyone!
My name is Georgia.
I am in Grade 8.
What makes me unique Let's see.
My family comes from Grcece. I was born there. Nobody else in my school comes firom Greece! That makes me unique.
I've been in Canada for seven and a half years.
My grandparents, aunts,uncles and cousins still live in Greece.
My sister is a basketball player in Canada. But she sometimes returns to Greece to play for the Greek National Basketball Team.
Playing baskctball is my main talent, too. When I was in Grade 6,I played for the junior high basketball team.
I was the youngest player. We did very well last year. We lost only two games.
Once, we played against a team from another city. The game was almost over, and the score was fifty-one to fifty-one.
A player on my team passed me the ball. I was too far from the basket. Could I put the ball into the basket
I tried, and the ball went in!
The final score was fifty-four to fifty-one.
We won! We felt proud of ourselves.
My dream is to play basketball in the Olympics. I'd like to go to university,too.
My parents want me to study medicine, but I want to continue taking P.E.

nobody为复合不定代词,意为“没有人”,相当于no one,它只可指人。nobody作主语时,谓语动词用单数第三人称形式。

【拓展】else常用在something, anything, somebody, anybody, nobody, everything等不定代词, what, who等疑问代词或little, much, all等代词的后面。

seven and a half years意为 “7年半”,相当于seven years and a half。英语中,如果要表达“……半”时,有两种方法
①基数词+and+a half+名词复数”
②“基数词+名词复数+and+a half(当基数词为one时,名词用单数)”
I’ve been in Canada for seven and a half years.
我在加拿大已经待了七年半。
two and a half hours
=two hours and a half两个半小时
four and a half kilos
=four kilos and a half 4.5千克
辨析almost 和nearly
这两个单词意思相近，在肯定句中可以互换使用，一般来说，almost的差距比nearly小。
The game was almost over…比赛差不多快结束了。
在差一刻开午饭时，可以说：
It’s nearly lunchtime. 快到午餐时间了。
在差5分钟开饭午时，可以说：
It’s almost lunchtime. 马上就要开饭了。
almost可以和never, no, none, nothing， nobody, nowhere, too, more than等词（组）连用。almost 和 nearly 都可用在行为动词的否定形式之前。
I almost never see her.
我几乎从未见过她。
He almost / nearly didn't hear what I said.
他几乎没听见我所说的话。
against为介词,意为“反对;与……相反”,常与play, fight, protect等动词连用。
play against表示“与……进行比赛/对抗”。
Once,we played against a team from another city.
曾经，我们与来自另一座城市的一个队伍比赛。
We often play against football teams from other schools.我们经常与来自其他学校的足球队比赛。
