文档简介

Self-Driving Buses Hit the Road
There are self-driving cars and trains. Now it’s the turn of buses. On May 15th, the world’s first self-driving bus service started in Scotland. The buses, a group of five, travel 14 miles between Fife and Edinburgh.
Now, let’s walk into the wonderful world of these self-driving buses. Picture a bus with computers at the wheel. The bus has ten sensors all around it. These sensors can detect when the bus needs to make a turn or if anything is getting in the way.
To make sure everyone feels safe, there is always a driver in the driver’s seat, ready to take control if anything unexpected happens. The driver, like a superhero, will take action if the bus needs a helping hand.
And that’s not all. To make sure passengers have a smooth and enjoyable ride, there is also a “bus captain”. The bus captain’s job is to make sure everyone has a ticket and help things run smoothly.
One thing’s for sure: these self-driving buses are not slow. They can drive up to 50 miles an hour. And they carry about 10,000 passengers a week.
