In recent years, Lingyun, a 25-year-old woman from Ya’an, Sichuan, has amazed the world with her martial arts skills through her online videos.
Lingyun began learning martial arts at 4. At age 10, she studied at the Emei Sect. Now, as a martial arts master, Lingyun loves to present different skills at home and abroad. In her videos, Lingyun, sometimes wearing red clothes, performs her martial arts in some of the most beautiful natural places around Jiuzhaigou. Lingyun likes to include everyday things in her videos. In February 2020, Lingyun became an Internet hit, thanks to a video of her in pajamas performing martial arts with a sword — right after she took the rubbish to a bin in her neighborhood. Performances like this add a style to her videos and have helped her reach more people. She even works hard to spread Emei Martial Arts creatively, by including modern things like games in her videos.
However, Lingyun doesn’t stop at just performing Emei Martial Arts. She also tries to include traditional Chinese handwriting and painting, tea, and other traditional things of Chinese culture in her videos.
