Section A 知识点一be born的用法 教材原文 ——When was she born —She was born in 1996. -她是什么时候出生的 她是1996年出生的。be born意为“出生”,是被动语态结构,常用作固定短语,其中动词be通常只用was或were。如: Tom was born in Hebei Province on February12,1999. 汤姆1999年2月12日在河北省出生。 The two boys were born on the same day. 这两个男孩在同一天出生。 例1(2018辽宁辽阳中考)彼得天生具有音乐才能。 Peter______ ______ ______ the talent of music。 知识点二 时间介词小结 教材原文 He was born into a farmer's family in Gaomi Shandong, in February 1955.他于1955年2月出生于山东高密的一个农民之家。 常用于表示时间的介词有:at,on,in。其用法如下:in用在月份、季节、年份、世纪等之前,或用于上午、下午或晚上之前以及某些固搭配中。 如:in May、in spring、in the 1990s、in the morning、in the daytime等 at用在具体的时刻之前,也可用在某些固定搭配中。 如:at half past six、at noon、at night、at the end of等时间介词。 on用在具体的某一天(生日、节日、星期)之前或某一天的上午、下午或晚上前。 如:on his birthday、on Monday morning、on Teachers' Day等。 例3(2018黑龙江哈尔滨中考) —Hi, Helen.When were you born —I was born____ February,2003.I’m l5 years old. A.on B.in C.at 知识点三 means的用法 教材原文 He had to try every means to find books to read.他不得不想方设法找书来读。 means在句中作名词,意为“方式,方法,途径”常用短语try every means to do sth.意为“想方设法做某事”.如:He said he would try every means to help us. 他说他将竭尽所能来帮助我们。 【拓展】(1) mean作动词,意为“意思是;意欲,打算;意味着”等。mean to do sth.意为“打算做某事”; mean doing sth.意为“意味着”。如: I meant to give you this book today,but I forgot. 我本来打算今天给你这本书的,可是我忘了。 Missing this train means waiting for another hour. 错过这辆火车意味着得再等一小时。 (2) mean还可用作形容词, 意为“吝啬的”。如; He is so selfish and mean that nobody wants to be friends with him. 他很自私又音啬,以至于没有人愿意与他做朋友。 例4(2019山东济宁任城石桥中学第一次月考) Jenny tries every m_____ to get a better job. 知识点五too...to...结构的用法 教材原文:You are never too young to start doing things.你多早开始做事都不为过。 too...to...结构的基本形式为“too+形容词/副词+to+动词原形”.意为“太…而不能….”。此外,不定式之前还可以加上for sb., 以表示动作的发出者。如: She is too young to know right from wrong. 她太小,还分不清是非。 The question is too difficult for me to answer. 这个问题太难了,我无法回答。 注意当too...to...结构前加否定词not或never构成never/not too...to...时, 意为“再…也可以.”,常表示肯定意义。如: One is never/not too old to learn. 活到老,学到老。 I’m never too busy to spare sometime to accompany you.我再忙也可以抽出时间来陪你。 【拓展】too...to...结构常可与not+adj./adv.+enough+to do sth.结构或so...that...引导的状语从句进行转换。如: The little girl is too young to dress herself. (=The little girl is not old enough to dress herself.) (=The little girl is so young that she can't dress herself.) Ⅱ. 阅读理解 Li Shizhen (李时珍) was one of the most famous doctors in Chinese history.He was born in Qichun, Hubei in 1518.
