Fall is a beautiful season. The plants put on their most colourful clothes. They now look red, orange and yellow. What gives them their new look Plants are busy making food in summer. Why Because they need it in winter. The chlorophyll(叶绿素)inside their leaves helps them make food from carbon dioxide(二氧化碳)in the air, water and sunlight. A lot of chlorophyll does this job. It makes plants green. When fall comes,there's less sunlight and water. Chlorophyll stops working. Some chlorophyll starts to break down. When this happens,the leaves become red,orange and yellow.
