Boys and girls, how much physical activity do you do In the past, our grandparents walked far away to school or to work. They cut wood, carried water or heavy things, washed clothes, worked in fields and so on. Now we usually use washing machines. Most of us don’t grow vegetables and our parents usually drive us where we want to go. But our bodies really need physical activity. Last summer, scientists in Heyuan, Guangdong repaired 11 dinosaur eggs. A 9-year-old boy found the eggs in 2019!
It’s not the first time that children in Heyuan have found dinosaur eggs. In1996. four middle school students found the first nest of eggs. Over the years, many young people in Heyuan have found dinosaur eggs while playing games or going on a family trip.
Why are the kids so lucky
In fact, there are lots of dinosaur eggs buried under the ground in Heyuan because many dinosaurs once survived there. The Heyuan Dinosaur Museum has over 20,000 dinosaur eggs. The museum keeps the Guinness World Records for having the most dinosaur eggs in the world.
Carve out history.
It took about three years for workers to repair the l1 dinosaur eggs. In the past, workers used hammers and needles to do the job. Now they have better tools such as pneumatic guns. They need to polish the eggs very carefully, slowly getting the eggs out from the sandstone. Then, the scientists found the eggs are 90 million years old.
People found many dinosaur eggs in soft soil in other places. But in Heyuan people found them in hard ground. “It helps people study the living environment of dinosaurs in Heyuan,” said Wang Qiang from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
