Report on Internet use among middle school students.
I have recently made a survey among 30 boys and 30 girls in our class about their purpose of getting on the Internet. According to news reports, nearly one third of the netizens are students and they surf the Internet for various reasons.
Around 80% of the students surf the internet at home, compared with only 12% in the internet cafe. The girls’ favorite is chatting, but few boys like it. What boys like to do most is playing games and the girls also like them. Both boys and girls like to read news or send e-mails on the Internet.
It is obvious that the majority of the students give up the Internet because of their homework. Only 30 percent of the students think that surfing the internet would not affect their academic grades.
