Our volunteer activity
Last Sunday, our school had a volunteer activity in the City Library. More than 40 students from different classes joined in it. We all wore school uniforms. At 8:00 am, we left for the library by school bus. We arrived at the City Library about 9:00 am and the people there gave us a warm welcome. In the library, some students cleaned bookcases and tables, some put the books and magazines in order. Others helped some readers to find what they wanted from the bookcases.
This activity was meaningful. After it, we were tired but all felt happy.2022-2023学年度第二学期期末教学质量检测

Rich or poor, young or old, we all meet problems. We can become unhappy unless we solve our problems. We feel tired and stressed (有压力的) because we have too many things to do, like lots of after-school activities. Sometimes lots of activities can make us feel stressed. We may feel better if we give something up; On the other hand, if problems at home are troubling us, in fact, some after-school activities may help us relax and feel better.
There are also relaxing exercises that we can do to reduce(减少) stress. The easiest one is to inhale(吸气) slowly and deeply through our noses, and then exhale(呼气) slowly through our mouths. Do this four times. We can do breathing exercises anytime. We can even do breathing exercises in class if we’re worried before a test.
The best way to reduce stress is to keep a balanced(平衡的) life. That means making good decisions about how to spend time. If we’re always busy doing schoolwork and have no free time to play, we can easily get stressed. Make sure we keep ourselves in mind: sleep, exercise, relax and food. If we look after ourselves well and get enough sleep and food, and if we exercise and have time for fun, we’ll probably be less stressed out! Let’s not worry about our problems.
