Many people travel to enrich and enjoy themselves. However, their travel methods may be different each year.
Lonely Planet and Forbes concluded some top trends(趋势) in 2022. Here are three of them for you to take a look.
Solo(独自) travel
Traditionally, travel seems to be a group activity to have fun together and avoid loneliness. But solo travel became popular, especially among young people in 2022.
Traveling on your own means that you are the boss of everything, choosing wherever you want to go, whatever you eat and whenever you go out. For some people, it also makes them a more confident person that is ready to deal with anything. Traveling in a totally foreign land on your own can be challenging. “It opens up your mind to new things, and pushes you out of your comfort zone,” Kristina Wegscheider, a traveler from the US, told Travel Pulse.
Augmented attractions(增强型景点)
World travel can be expensive. But virtual reality(虚拟现实) and augmented reality, or VR and AR, are giving more possibilities to travel for little cost. With ever-improving headsets, smartphones and Wi-Fi connections, people can have a 360-degree experience of museums, theme parks and historical sites.
With these technologies, visitors can experience the surface of Mars with just a headset, or view a sea cow’s growing flesh before their eyes in a museum.
Getting off the touristy path
There are always some “must-see” spots anywhere you travel. But traveling in such places always brings problems like overcrowding and noise.
In order to have a better travel experience, many tried to visit less famous places in 2022. With less transportation and fewer things to do, visiting a little town lets people slow down and notice the little things. Take a walk, ride a bike, sip coffee a little slower, take a deep breath and explore the natural scenery.
21.Who are most likely to choose solo travel
A.An old man. B.A young man.
C.A little child. D.A middle aged woman.
22.How do VR and AR change the way we travel
A.They allow us to visit places at a low cost.
B.They make museums the hottest destinations.
C.They challenge us to walk out of our comfort zones.
D.They make space travel a reality for ordinary people.
23.In which section of a magazine can you read the text
A.Health. B.Travel. C.Science. D.Environment.
B
I was living in Delta in 2015. There was a man, Boniface, who owned a store which I’d often visited. Gradually we became friends. One day, we talked about the business opportunities in our country at that time, and during the communication, I found the most practical one was starting a barrow (手推车) rental business. Then we talked more on it, and both of us thought there was a strong possibility of succeeding. So we went into the business.
We started as a small business with 6 barrows. The barrow-men gave us 51 cents per day for renting the barrows. It seemed small but later grew and made our life better. But we didn’t stop there. That was because when we first started our business, our aim wasn’t only to make money. The most valuable thing for us is to touch others’ lives positively.
In Nigeria, being a barrow pusher is not a very attractive job. But for people who were poor farmers or young people without jobs, wheelbarrow pushing helps them make a living. It doesn’t require much skill. With hard work and vigor, a person can make money daily.
We saw the meaning of this business and then decided to spend money and resources on rebranding (重塑……的形象) barrows. We gave each barrow-man a branded T-shirt to show they belonged to a good brand. We also held small classes for them to educate them on how to make their barrows better transporters and how to be extra polite to people so as to build up a good fame. We marketed them as polite and excellent pushers to attract more customers. These methods worked. They started getting more jobs and earned more. And a number of them even saved up enough to start businesses of their own.
Today, that little business made us millionaires while hiring over 20 people and touching their lives positively. Over 20 families are fed because two Nigerians decided, despite all the difficulties, to do something.
24.What made the author start the barrow rental business
A.Losing his job. B.His family’s suggestion.
C.His discussion with a friend. D.Being short of money.
25.Which of the following did the author consider most important in running the business
A.Hiring more workers. B.Making customers touched.
C.Cutting the company’s costs. D.Improving people’s lives.
26.What does the underlined word “vigor” in Paragraph 3 probably mean
A.Energy. B.Praise. C.Creativity. D.Education.
27.What did the author and his friend do to rebrand the business
A.They sent the barrow-men to school.
B.They lent money to the barrow-men.
C.They taught the barrow-men to make clothes.
D.They turned the barrow-men into professional pushers.

The Banaue Rice Terraces (梯田) in Ifugao Province in the Philippines offer a great sight. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is also rich in history and features how human creativity can produce amazing outcomes. Through hard work, the Ifugao native managed to survive by flattening(整平) the mountain’s surface layer by layer and using them as farmlands. This practice of more than two thousand years has put together a well-known wonder.
There are several rice terraces in the Ifugao region but the Banaue Rice Terraces are the most popular tourist spot. The photos of this area are often used in printed materials like textbooks magazines and postcards. After getting a good look at the rice terraces, I was reminded of the first time that I saw their pictures in our textbook during my elementary days. I already found them amusing as a kid and seeing their beauty as an adult got me more amazed.
The tourism officer told us that we were lucky to catch them in their greenest form. If you plan to visit this tourist spot as well, you should take note that we got there last June 1. You can also take into consideration that the rice planting cycle is typically 3 to 6 months.
Unlike the other terraces, the local government created a platform(平台) that makes it easy for everyone to get a closer look at the rice terraces. The platform has four stone statues that they refer to as rice protectors.
It’s sad that the younger generation of Ifugaos are slowly abandoning(放弃) the rice terraces. According to tour guide Alvin, the part of the rice terraces where people can see thick bushes and trees were former rice fields. But the children who inherited (继承) those decided to give up farming and work in big cities instead. I hope that a new farming method with modern equipment will encourage the Ifugaos to continue their rice terraces farming tradition to protect this cultural treasure.
28.What can be learned about the Banaue Rice Terraces

B.They were made to mainly draw tourists.

B.To show Ifugao Province is heavily dependent on tourism.
C.To show the Banaue Rice Terraces are more suitable for kids to visit.
D.To show advertisements for the Banaue Rice Terraces spread rapidly.
30.What is Paragraph 3 intended to do
A.Tell us some facts about rice planting.
B.Encourage more people to go to Ifugao.
C.Raise public awareness of local traditions.
D.Share the proper time to visit the Banaue Rice Terraces.
31.How does the author feel about the future of the Banaue Rice Terraces
A.Worried. B.Positive. C.Confused. D.Curious.

You might text your friend a white lie to get out of going to dinner, exaggerate your height on a CV online to appear more attractive or invent an excuse for your boss over email to save face.
Social psychologists have long wondered where people tend to lie the most—that is, in person or through some other communication medium. A 2004 study was among the first to investigate the connection between deception (欺骗) rates and technology. Jeff Hancock’s team had 28 students report the number of social interactions they had through face-to-face communication, the phone, instant messaging and email over seven days. Students also reported the number of times they lied in each social interaction.
The results suggested people told the most lies on the phone and the fewest through email, which is broadly in line with a “feature-based model”. According to the model, specific aspects of a technology—whether people can communicate back and forth smoothly, whether the messages are fleeting and whether communicators are distant—predict where people tend to lie the most.
When Hancock conducted his study, few students had a Facebook account. The iPhone was in its early stage. What would his results look like nearly 20 years later
In a new study, I recruited (招募) 250 people and studied interactions from more forms of technology. The participants recorded their social interactions and number of interactions with a lie over seven days, across face-to-face communication, social media, the phone, texting, video chat and email. The results show people seem to lie according to the “feature-based model”.
There are several possible explanations for these results. Phone and video chat, for example, might make deception less costly to a social relationship if caught. Deception rates might also differ across technology because people use some forms of technology for certain social relationships. For example, people might only email their colleagues (同事), while video chat might be a better fit for more personal relationships.
People often believe just because we use technology to interact, honesty is harder to come by. Not only is this perception (看法) misguided, but it is also unsupported by enough evidence. The belief that lying is common in the digital age just doesn’t match the data.
32.What does the author intend to do in the first paragraph
A.Reveal the tendency of people to tell lies on social media.
B.Introduce the topic of technology’s role in people’s telling lies.
C.Demonstrate the increasing popularity of social media.
D.Illustrate people’s ways of social interactions.
33.What do the studies by Hancock and the author have in common
A.Their participants were all students.
B.They both aimed to reduce deception rates.
C.Their results were both consistent with a certain model.
D.They analyzed the same kind of social relationships.
34.What can be inferred from paragraph 6
A.Social media users tend to lie more.
B.Close people are more likely to lie to each other.
C.Lying can greatly influence friendships.
D.Deception rates can be reduced by using technology.
35.What does the author think of people lying in social interactions
A.It is unacceptable among friends. B.It worsens interpersonal relationships.
C.It doesn’t happen as frequently as expected. D.It is in line with advances in technology

While waiting to pick up a friend at the airport in Portland, I had one of life-changing experiences. It happened only two feet away from me. Straining(竭力) to locate my friend among the passengers, I noticed a man coming toward me carrying two light bags. He stopped right next to me to greet his family.
First he smiled to his youngest son, about six years old, as he laid down his bags. They gave each other a long, loving hug. As they separated enough to look in each other’s face, I heard the father say, “It’s so good to see you, son. I missed you so much!” His son smiled somewhat shyly and replied softly, “Me, too, Dad!”
Then the man stood up, gazed into the eyes of his oldest son, maybe nine or ten, and while cupping(捧) his son’s face in his hands, he said, “You’re already quite the young man. I love you very much, Zach!” Then the father gave his son a warm hug.
While this was happening, a baby girl was moving excitedly in her mother’s arms, never once taking her little eyes off the wonderful sight of her returning father. The man said, “Hi, baby girl!” as he gently took the child from her mother. He quickly kissed her face all over and then held her close to his chest while rocking her from side to side.
After several moments, he handed his daughter to his oldest son and gave his wife the longest and warmest hug. He gazed into her eyes for several seconds and then silently mouthed, “I love you so much!” They stared at each other’s eyes with big smiles on their faces.
At that moment, they reminded me of newly-married couples, though it couldn’t be possible by the age of their sons. Full of admiration, I asked, “Wow! How long have you two been married ” “Almost 10 years in total,” the man replied.

1.续写的词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

W: Okay.
(Text 7)
M: High Town Productions. Paul speaking. How can I help you

M: Let me check. Okay, yes. Mrs. Smith, two tickets for June the fifth. What date would you like to change to
W: What dates do you still have seats for

M: But it’s not even big enough for two people in it. What about the bedrooms
W: Follow me. This is the master bedroom. It’s south-facing.
M: I like the place. But I don’t see any furniture. Will the landlord be willing to provide some furniture
W: I can call and check. But you need to act fast. A place like this won’t stay on the market for long.
(Text 9)

W: How long have you been looking for a new job
M: I just started this week.
W: Didn’t you have any interviews with those firms that came to our campus two months ago I believe quite a few companies came to hire students for their Finance Departments.
M: I got only one interview. But I have not heard from them. I guess I did not make it.
W: Don’t worry. You always did well in school. Your good grades will help you get a job quickly. Besides, the job market is pretty good right now, and all companies need financial analysts. Did you mail your resume to recruiting agencies
M: No, I have not thought about recruiting agencies. But, I do look closely at the employment ads listed in the newspaper every day.

(Text 10)
Ten years ago, I worked as a librarian in a college. I returned to my hometown once a year and stayed there for about a month. My best friend Lily taught more than ten students and also worked as an editor. She asked me to teach one of her students, Tim. Lily told me how naughty the kid was. I accepted him because I love teaching. I came up with a strategy that if he completed a task on time, I would treat him with a bar of chocolate. Slowly, he started showing interest in his studies. I loved teaching him and I had no clue how an entire month passed. It was one day before my flight scheduled back that Tim’s mother rang me up. She called me at her house around 10 pm. I was a bit nervous but unwillingly went at last. There was my first student waiting for me with a card and a gift. He thanked me for helping him with his studies and how he loved coming to my house every day. I had tears in my eyes. He continued saying he wished I would teach him longer. That was the most touching thing a student said to me.

Knowing that you are interested in Chinese classics, I am more than excited because I am fairly a classical literature lover myself.
I recommend a well-known Chinese book titled Journey to the West to you. The book was written by Wu Cheng’en in the 16th century during Ming Dynasty, which tells a story about Priest Tang and his three animal followers with human characteristics. Seemingly stubborn, weak and incompetent, Priest Tang played an important role in keeping the team united and bringing out people’s kindness and humanity. I will send this book to you by airmail tomorrow, so please pay attention to your package.
I am looking forward to your view of this book.
Yours,
Li Hua

One possible version:
When asked how long he had been away from his family, he said it was only two days. I was surprised to know he had been away for only two days. I had thought he’d been away at least several weeks—if not months. Because he missed his family so much. I asked the man how I could have a happy family and a good relationship with my friends. The man answered, “It’s love, understanding and responsibility. You can be the owner of yourself.”
“I hope my marriage is similar to yours!” I talked to him. The man smiled and looked at me straight in the eye. “Don’t hope, friend… decide!” Then he showed his wonderful smile again. At that moment, I saw the answer from his eyes. I was watching the family walk out of sight when my friend came to me and asked, “What are you looking at ” Without a second thought, I replied, “My future!”
