Teaching procedures Step 1Leading in  1.Greeting 2.Read aloud the passage in 2b and get the students to read out their homework—the direct questions and the polite requests in 2c. Step 2Cooperative inquiry 1.Finish the task in 3a ①Work in groups. ②Open the books.Read the instructions in 3a to see if they have the same topics to care about as those in 3a. ③Ask them to fill in the chart on their own and the teacher help them to use polite,indirect questions to talk about the topics. ④The teacher collects some good sentences on the blackboard for other students to learn to use. 2.Finish the task in 3b 3.Finish the tasks in Self Check Activities 1 & 2 ①Keep the books closed and the teacher says the words in Chinese or says the paraphrasing.Ask the students to say the English words. ②Open the books.Then read the words in the box.Finish the tasks in activity 1 and activity 2 on their own. ③Check their work,boys report activity 1 and girls report activity 2.They evaluate each other's jobs and learn from each other. ④The teacher sums up the unit.
