Living in London

Kathy O'Brien is 26 years old and she's from Ireland, Right now, she's living in a flat （公寓）in north London and she has a job in a shop. She doesn't like her job, but she needs the money. When the weather is good, Kathy sings and plays her guitar in Hyde Park. She is very good and lots of people stop and listen to her. Jamie Chandler is 27 and he’s from Australia. He’s travelling around the world, but now he’s in London. He's working as a London guide. Jamie's mum is Japanese, so he speaks Japanese well. When he's working Jamie takes groups of Japanese visitors around London to see the famous monuments（纪念碑）. They always take lots of photos! Passage 3
GLASTONBURY
Glastonbury is a pretty town in the south west of England. You can see tourists in the town centre at any time of the year because it has some famous monuments, such as Glastonbury Abbey and St John's Church. It is a small, quiet town and it doesn't have a cinema, a theatre, or a night club. However, every year in June, around 150,000 music fans arrive for 'Glasto', the world famous Glastonbury Festival. The festival started in 1970 and takes place at Worthy Farm, around 10 kms from the town of Glastonbury. It's four days of music from some of the world's top performers: singers like Beyonce, and bands like U2 and Coldplay.
Glastonbury is very big and you can walk around and hear different music in different places. Over 300 singers and bands come to play their music here so it has nearly everything. Rock, reggae, and rap are some of the things you can hear, but there isn't any classical music. The Glastonbury Arts Festival is for people who like classical music, but that's in August.
Glastonbury is an outdoor festival, so it's great when the weather is good and the sun is shining. But British summers are very changeable and it sometimes rains a lot during the festival. However, the fans aren't worried - they sing and dance in the rain while the bands are playing. You don't usually see sad faces or umbrellas at Glastonbury when it rains.
It's sometimes quite difficult to get tickets for the Glastonbury festival because lots of people want to go to it. If you can't get a ticket, you can always watch it on TV or on the internet, or listen to it on the radio.

Esther： my day is very normal, really. I get up, I get dressed, I have breakfast. Then I go to work.

Doctors tell us to eat more fruits and more vegetables. They tell us to drink more water and less fizzy drinks. But do we listen No, we continue to eat lots of junk food like pizza, sweets, chips, cokes and biscuits.
We are what we eat. If we keep putting bad things into our bodies every day, like lots of fats and sugar, we will see bad things happen to our body. Unhealthy food makes your body unhealthy. When you get older you start to have a lot of problems like heart diseases. We only think that burgers taste better than salad. We think that the juice we buy from the supermarket is more delicious than the juice we make at home. Burgers, French Fries and fizzy drinks may be delicious but they haven't got enough vitamins and minerals. Your body needs vitamins and minerals to grow healthy. Healthy food gives our body the vitamins and the minerals it needs.
People eat junk food because it is tasty but everybody can have a tasty meal at home. The only problem is that buying fresh products and cooking takes time. And people prefer to spend time doing other activities such as watching films, meeting friends, walking in parks and so on. I also like to do these activities but I am very careful of my body.
