I like it very much because the air is fresher, the sky is bluer and the rivers are clearer there. 我很喜欢乡村生活，因为那里的空气更清新，天空更蔚蓝，河水更清澈。
本句中的fresher, bluer和clearer是形容词fresh, blue, clear的比较级，用于两者之间进行比较。如果三者或三者以上的比较则要用形容词的最高级，如freshest, bluest等。
形容词和副词比较级和最高级的规则变法。
（1）一般在词尾加-er构成比较级，加-est构成最高级。
e.g.long→longer → longest cold → colder → coldest
（2）以e为结尾的直接在其后加-r变成比较级，加-st构成最高级。
e.g.nice → nicer → nicest large → larger → largest
（3）只有一个辅音字母结尾的重读闭音节词，要双写最后一个辅音字母再加-er变成比较级，加-est构成最高级。
e.g.hot → hotter → hottest thin → thinner → thinnest
（4）以辅音字母加y结尾的词，先将y变i，再加-er构成比较级，加-est变成最高级。
e.g.early → earlier → earliest heavy → heavier → heaviest
（5）多音节词和部分双音节词在单词前面加more和most构成比较级和最高级。
e.g.important →more important →most important
interesting →more interesting →most interesting
对于形容词和副词比较级和最高级的不规则变法，只需要记住下表即可。

注意：在使用比较级的时候不能与自身比较。
如：王磊比他班的任何一个学生都高。

like…best表示“最喜欢”，通常用于最高级中。
