Topic Unit 1 How can we became good learners Period2 Section A 3a~4c
Analysis of the Teaching Material 本节课是本单元的第二课时,3a~4c是本单元的第一个阅读版块。语篇以第一人称讲述了因为对英语电影的喜爱,一名英语学习被动、困难的学生转变为一名主动学习英语并且热爱英语的学生的故事。阅读语篇在训练、发展学生阅读水平的同时,能帮助他们意识到提高学习兴趣和改进学习方法的重要性。活动3a通过提出三个问题,帮助学生掌握文章主要内容;活动3b将语篇内容和本单元的重点语言结构“by十v-ing形式”结合,对作者使用的英语学习方法进行梳理。
Analysis of the Students 学生经过了本单元第一课时的学习后,学生对学习方法的英语表达有了一定的了解,初步接触了目标语言,基本掌握了“by十动词-ing形式”,能够用这个结构进行简单的表达。但是对于学习过程中出现的问题和具体的改进措施还不能顺利地表达清楚。
Analysis of Teaching Objectives Language ability 能读懂有关学习中遇到的困难的文章;
Learningability 通过阅读文章能够获取英语学习的方法,培养阅读能力;
Thinking quality 通过阅读文章发现兴趣是学习英语的好方法,思考如何在学习的科目中或者学习的事物中寻找兴趣点让自己融入到学习中;
Cultural awareness 通过阅读文章《我是如何学会学习英语的》,认识到中英文化上的相似性和差异性;
TeachingPoints 1.重点:让学生能理解、认读本课时的重点单词和短语及掌握目标语言by doing sth.来表达学习方式的用法,理解本单元的语法结构及其表意功能。2.难点:让学生能在口语中熟练询问他人学习英语的方法,并将书中学到的学习方法运用到实际中以及运用所学内容进行简单的写作。

Step2Presentation Present the new words.Teacher:Look at the picture, why is the man with a magnifying glass Students:Because he want to discover something.Teacher:Nice!How to pronounce?Pay attention to the tone. Teacher:Read them together. (or circle the words with a finger.)Students:discover.Teacher:Does it have cousins?Students:a noun, discovery.Teacher:Excellent!The next word.Who want to try to pronounce the words.You can get one point. 根据老师的指令学习单词。 导入阅读课,激发学生继续阅读的兴趣和动机,为学生顺利阅读提供相关信息支持。
Step3Pre-Reading Ask students to predict what they will read in this passage with the help of the title and the picture.Make sure not to read the words in the passage.Show some questions to let the students to answer. 预测阅读内容并回答问题。 逐步养成良好的阅读习惯,并提升其独立思考和分析、解决问题的能力。

Step5Post-readingI Finish the activities.3a Read the passage about Wei Fen and answer the questions.3b Complete the sentences with what Wei Fen learned from watching movies. Use words and phrases from the passage. 完成课文的练习。 掌握本单元的目标语言。
Step6Post-readingII 1 Ask students how many phrases they can remember.2Expand the more phrases.3Read the phrases together. 根据以上学过的内容根据中文提示回答出任意短语的英文。 检测短语习得情况;让学生识记自身易错、难记的部分,尤其是介词的搭配;
Step 7 Grammar Focus 1.Ask the students to read the questions and answers in the grammar box .2.Show the questions and answers on PPT and circle the word “by” and the words with “-ing” in each sentence.Point out the four phrases that start with “by” and end with “-ing” words.Tell students when they should use the structure.3.Then ask the students to do the pair work to practice the questions and answers in the grammar box. 回问题答并在老师指导下总结语法。 与学生一起系统、全面地学习、总结本单元语法内容,明确其用法。
Step8Exercises Do some exercisesWork on 4a,4b & 4c1.Ask students to read the sentences,and then match the questions with answers in 4a.2.Ask students to make sentences using the structure “do sth.by doing”.Use information that is true for you and fill in the blanks in 4b.3.Work in pairs and encourage students to summarize the useful ways of learning English and then make their own learning plan at last,ask students to report. 做相应的练习。 学生在完成4a、4b、4c所要求的训练任务的过程中,实践运用本单元语言知识及语法知识,切实巩固所学内容,提高语言技能。
