Stuck inside his room at an assisted living center, Bob Coleman knew he could not go out in public with the epidemic (疫). But he was not cut off from outside: he shared his love for country music over the Internet. " Hello, everybody. It' s a bright day in Tennessee, " he said into his microphone. " This is Bob Coleman, coming to you from Room3325… " . Then Coleman began to play the music he loves-hits from country music stars. The 88-year-old carefully chooses each song.
Coleman and several other retirees have turned into DJs (流行音乐播音员), for a new online radio hour known as " Radio Recliner. " A marketing company called Luckie came up with the idea of Radio Recliner. Listeners can send song requests in honor of family or friends. For example, listeners might hear a message like this: " Hey, Granny. This is your favorite granddaughter Amy. We just wanted to call in and say we love you. " The 60-minute show started with retirees in middle Tennessee. It has since expanded, with residents of assisted-living centers in other states taking part in the project. Many jumped at the chance to work as a DJ to ease the loneliness of social distancing rules.
Mitch Bennett serves as Luckie' s chief creative officer. He says the idea was to provide a sense of community to older people. " For this generation, radio was the original social media, " Bennett said, " Dedicating a song to someone you love and having them hear it along with everyone else is a special way of connecting. "
In Georgia, 80-year-old Ed Rosenblatt, who had made full preparations for his show, said an hour he spent playing songs on Radio Recliner resulted in a flood of text messages, emails and calls from family and friends, and many of the messages were from people he had not heard from for years.

Sunlight may have helped remove as much as 17 percent of the oil on the surface of the Gulf of Mexico following the 2010 Deepwater Horizon spill (泄漏). That means that sunlight plays a bigger role in cleaning up such spills than previously thought, researchers suggested on February 16.
When sunlight shines on spilled oil in the sea, it can kick off a chain of chemical reactions, transforming the oil into new compounds. Some of these reactions can increase how easily the oil dissolves in water, called photodissolution (光溶解). But there has been little data on how much of the oil becomes water-soluble.
To assess this, environmental chemists Danielle Haas Freeman and Collin Ward, both of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts, placed samples of the Macondo oil from the Deepwater Horizon spill on glass disks and irradiated (照射) them with light using LEDs that send out wavelengths found in sunlight. The two then chemically analyzed the irradiated oil to see how much was transformed into dissolved organic carbon.
The most important factors in photodissolution, the researchers found, were the thickness of the slick and the wavelengths of light. Longer wavelengths dissolved less oil, possibly because they are more easily scattered by water, than shorter wavelengths. How long the oil was exposed to light was not as important.
Though the team didn' t specifically test for seasonal or latitude differences, computer simulations based on the lab data suggested that those factors, as well as the oil' s chemical makeup, also matter.
The researchers estimate irradiation helped dissolve from 3 to 17 percent of surface oil from the Deepwater Horizon spill, comparable to processes such as evaporation and grounding on coastlines. What impact the sunlight-produced compounds might have on marine ecosystems, however, isn' t yet known.
12.In which section of a news website may this text appear
A.Education. B.Science. C.Travel. D.Health.
13.How does sunlight remove the spilled oil in the ocean
A.By transforming the oil into water.
B.By turning the oil into dissolved organic carbon.
C.By speeding up the chemical reactions of water.
D.By preventing the chemical reactions of the oil.
14.What matters most in photodissolution according to Danielle and Collin
A.The oil' s chemical makeup.
B.The time of exposure to light.
C.Seasonal and latitude differences.
D.The thickness of the slick and wavelengths of light.
15.What' s the text mainly about
A.Various factors affect the photodissolution of oil spills in the ocean.
B.The Deepwater Horizon spill greatly damaged the marine ecosystem.
C.Sunlight may help clean up oil spills in the ocean more than previously thought.
D.Sunlight-produced compounds might have a great impact on marine ecosystems.

What will you say when you don't know how to answer a job interview question 16.
Whatever you do, don't lie.
If you can' t draw from personal experience to answer a question, it' s alright to say something like, " 17. But here' s how I think I would handle it. " The biggest mistake is when candidates attempt to lie instead of acknowledging what they don' t know.

If you don' t understand what they' re asking, request clarification. Rambling is the worst mistake a job candidate can make when they don' t know how to answer. They think if they talk long enough, people will think they are answering the questions. Don' t do that. When you are rambling, it shows you are a poor communicator. It demonstrates confidence to say, " Hey, can you clarify I want to share the right insights and the most relevant information with you. " 19.
Don' t give up and just say " I don' t know, " either.
Advocate for the person you are. It' s OK to admit you have not yet acquired a specific skill or faced a certain problem. 20. Say something like. " I don't know that yet, but I' m willing to learn that skill " , showing your willingness to learn new things. Redirect your answer and share how the skills you' ve gained in another capacity have prepared for the target opportunity.
A. Don' t ramble and hope for the best.
B. Here are several tips that you can follow.
C. Don' t be afraid of making mistakes at any time.
D. I haven' t been placed in that situation specifically yet.
E. But don' t just say I don' t know when you can' t answer.
F. You should learn a new skill to become more confident than others.
G. Asking to repeat the question might also save time to think of an answer.

Malachi Bradley doesn' t show signs of being panicked or worried when he talks about how he spent 29 hours lost in a rough area of the High Uintas. " I didn' t really feel scared. I was just trying to get back to my family, " the 10-year-old said Tuesday in a quiet, almost matter-of-fact way just one day after he was rescued. When asked what happened to him, he simply replied: " A lot of things. I hiked a long way. "
Malachi confidently believes he could have survived two or three weeks on his own, dressed in only his jeans and his shoes, and with no food, tent or blankets. But the look in the eyes of Malachi' s father, Danny Bradley, told a different story, one of much deeper concern, when he realized his son was missing. " It' s a horrible feeling, just knowing how vast the Uinta Mountains are, " he said, " I quickly felt how severe the situation was. "
Malachi recalled his great adventure Tuesday. He showed no signs of going without food for a day or sleeping between rocks for an hour at night to block the cold wind. But he admitted when he got home to his own bed on Monday night that he was asleep within a minute of his head hitting his pillow and stayed there for 12 hours.
His adventure began Sunday when Malachi, his father, two siblings(兄弟姐妹), and a family friend were about to leave their campsite near Paul Lake to go home. " We were just going to cook up a fish he caught and head out, and, " Danny Bradley paused, " it ended up being a lot longer. "
Malachi said he went to look for mushrooms about 10:30 a. m. He had just walked a long way when he encountered a snake. He was so frightened that he decided to get back but he could no longer see the lake where his campsite was set up. He knew he was lost.
注意: 1. 续写词数应为150左右;

故填to。
分析可知,"after the Motocross World Championship, the most (influence)of the sport's events across the globe, (host)its annual showcase in Shanghai for two consecutive(连续的)years in 2020 to 2021"为时间状语从句,其中主语为the Motocross World Championship,谓语为host,结合句中时间状语 in 2020 to 2021,可知此处的时态为一般过去时。故填hosted。

故填To let。

After enjoying a museum or art gallery, Milly Zi, a management adviser in Beijing, usually visits the souvenir shop to buy something to remember the visit. About a decade ago, Zi was attracted by a roll of sticky tape in Taipei Palace Museum. The tape, designed in red, yellow and white, had four Chinese characters making a phrase: zhen zhi dao le-a sentence of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, meaning " I am aware. " " The product has history and culture in it, " Zi said, " And it has aroused my interest to learn more about the history behind them. "
The latest digital technology is also helping museums to be more creative. In October 2021, the Hubei Provincial Museum released 10, 000 digital copies of the sword of Gou Jian, king of the state of Yue during the Warring States period, a famous cultural relic on display in the museum. Its popularity can be gauged by how quickly it sold out. " All the copies were sold in just three seconds, " said Wang Xianfu, deputy head of the museum.
Digital collections go beyond the restrictions of time and space, making museums more open, interesting and modern. " It' s a new experience, a combination of civilization and modern high-tech, " Wang said.
" The popularity of digital cultural relics has resulted in more museums exploring the concept. Digitized cultural relics are a new form of cultural creative products, which can be sold, purchased, collected and used. " Ma Xiaoli said, head of the museum in Henan.
" I think museums have two functions-to remember and to spread Chinese culture, " said YuLin, manager of the Development Department at Ant Group, " I hope new technologies will promote Chinese culture in a way the younger generation is happy to accept. "

Sunlight may have helped remove as much as 17 percent of the oil on the surface of the Gulf of Mexico following the 2010 Deepwater Horizon spill (泄漏). That means that sunlight plays a bigger role in cleaning up such spills than previously thought, researchers suggested on February 16."2010年Deepwater Horizon漏油事件发生后,阳光可能帮助清除了墨西哥湾表面多达17%的石油。
When sunlight shines on spilled oil in the sea, it can kick off a chain of chemical reactions, transforming the oil into new compounds. Some of these reactions can increase how easily the oil dissolves in water, called photodissolution (光溶解)." The two then chemically analyzed the irradiated oil to see how much was transformed into dissolved organic carbon."
The most important factors in photodissolution, the researchers found, were the thickness of the slick and the wavelengths of light."
Sunlight may have helped remove as much as 17 percent of the oil on the surface of the Gulf of Mexico following the 2010 Deepwater Horizon spill (泄漏). That means that sunlight plays a bigger role in cleaning up such spills than previously thought, researchers suggested on February 16."2010年Deepwater Horizon漏油事件发生后,阳光可能帮助清除了墨西哥湾表面多达17%的石油。 The researchers estimate irradiation helped dissolve from 3 to 17 percent of surface oil from the Deepwater Horizon spill, comparable to processes such as evaporation and grounding on coastlines."
 18.

故填to。
分析可知,"after the Motocross World Championship, the most (influence)of the sport's events across the globe, (host)its annual showcase in Shanghai for two consecutive(连续的)years in 2020 to 2021"为时间状语从句,其中主语为the Motocross World Championship,谓语为host,结合句中时间状语 in 2020 to 2021,可知此处的时态为一般过去时。故填hosted。
imagine doing sth.

注意: 1. 续写词数应为150左右;
Malachi didn' t have his whistle with him that he normally carries in case he gets lost when exploring.
But on Monday afternoon, Malachi took off his shoes to take a break in an open area and heard another helicopter nearby.
Malachi didn' t have his whistle with him that he normally carries in case he gets lost when exploring. He didn' t know what to do but to walk along the road and call out his families while walking. However, nobody answered him. Not knowing how long he had walked for, he suddenly heard a helicopter nearby. He began to shout as loudly as he could so that he could be heard. Unfortunately, the helicopter flied away for it was too dark to see him. Feeling a little bit depressed, he tried his best to follow the helicopter though he lost it very quickly. Not until the sun rose did Malachi realize that he had walked for the whole night, hungry, tired and cold.
But on Monday afternoon, Malachi took off his shoes to take a break in an open area and heard another helicopter nearby. He tried to yell for help again with his clothes waving in his hand. To his disappointment, the helicopter began to fly away too. He thought he was about to stay here for another night when the helicopter turned back.
He didn' t know what to do but to walk along the road and call out his families while walking. Not until the sun rose did Malachi realize that he had walked for the whole night, hungry, tired and cold.运用了时间状语从句,倒装句 ;He thought he was about to stay here for another night when the helicopter turned back. 运用了宾语从句;be about to...when...
