be动词有三种形式：am, is, are，它们都是“是”的意思。
具体用法为：
1）am用于第一人称单数I。其完整形式是I am …，缩写形式是
I’m …，但I am在句末 时不能缩写。如：
I am/ I’m Li Ming. 我是李明。 Yes, I am. 是的，我是。
2）is用于第三人称单数或名词单数。如：
The girl is Mary. 那个女孩是玛丽。
be动词的用法
3）are用于第二人称或第一、三人称复数、名词复数。如：
You are Jim. 你是吉姆。
My mom and I are fine. 我和妈妈都很好。
be动词的句型有：
肯定句：主语+be动词+…；
否定句：主语+be动词+not+…；
一般疑问句：be动词+主语+…？
口诀助记
我（I）用am ，你（you）用are，
is连着他（he）她（she）它（it）
单数名词用is，复数名词全用are。
变否定更容易，be后not加上去。
变疑问，往前提，句末问号莫忘记。
还有一条要牢记，句首大写要注意。
be动词的用法
含有be动词的陈述句变一般疑问句时，采用“一调二改三问号”的方法。所谓“一调”就是把be动词调到句首（也就是主语的前面）；“二改”就是把be动词的首字母改为大写，把主语的第一个大写字母改为小写（专有名词除外）；“三问号”就是在句尾加上问号。
He is from China. 他来自中国。
→ Is he from China 他来自中国吗？
Maria is from Cuba. 玛丽来自古巴。
→ Is Maria from Cuba 玛丽来自古巴吗？
be动词的一般疑问句
注意：
如果陈述句为I’m/ I am …或We’re/ We are …，变为一般疑问句时要根据语义的需要变为Are you …
如：I’m a teacher. 我是一名老师。
→Are you a teacher 你是一名老师吗？

be动词缩写的注意事项
1) be在句首时不能用缩写形式。
2) 在肯定回答中不能缩写。
