What can children do to succeed in school Here are some tips to help you become an excellent student.
Get a love of learning
It’s not enough to know that school is important. You have to learn that learning does not stop with a grade—it’s a way of life. You can even learn a lot from everyday activities at home—reading, writing, listening to music or talking with your parents. All these activities are a kind of intellectual(智力的)development.
Get yourself planned
Make a work plan and put all the homework on a list. Without a plan students can easily forget what they have to do. Older students especially need such a plan as they have so many kinds of things to do in their lives.
Eat with your parents as a family
Dinner is a valuable chance for the family to spend time together. During dinner time, children have the chance to express their ideas, to argue and to develop their verbal(言语的)skills.
The process(过程)is more important
Many times, all we see is the grade. In fact, the process of learning is much more important than the result, because the result is always the thing of the past but the experience learned from the process can be used again in the future. When in need of help, ask others to give you the tools to find the answers by yourself. For example, instead of asking your parents to tell you where India is, ask them to show you how to use a map.
Keep your expectations(期望)high
Don’t be afraid to aim high. You can reach your goals. Set practical(切实可行的)goals and do your best to reach them. If you make one step forward, you’ll enjoy making more. In this way, you are building a bright future for yourself.

D.Only the grade in the exam can tell us how well we have learned at school
Some people believe that genes (基因) and intelligence (智力) decide a student’s success. But there is no research to support this opinion, and, in fact, it is wrong. One simple thing can finally decide students’ success or failure (失败): how they learn. Some students are so lucky that they find good ways to study. But not all students are so lucky.
Dr. Asher developed a way called “Total Physical Response” to teach languages. Studies at San Jose State University showed that if students moved their bodies while learning English, they could learn more words and grammar in a short time. If they sat still and didn’t move, they learned less English. After a year, the students still remembered 80% or more of what they had learned if they learned by moving their bodies, while the others had forgotten over 80%.
So you should make sure that you keep moving when you learn English. When you listen to a story or an article, do what you have heard. For example, if you hear the word “go”, you can move your feet. Pretend you are the person in the story or article. By doing this, you can learn more English, remember it longer and use it more easily.
16._______ can decide students’ success or failure according to the writer.
A.Where to learn B.When to learn
C.How to learn D.What to learn

A.keep healthy B.give a speech

18.You should _______ when you learn English so that you can learn it well.

C.move your body D.sit still
19.What does the underlined word “Pretend” mean in Chinese
A.推测 B.假装 C.怀疑 D.确定
20.What does the writer mainly want to tell us
A.Exercise is important for study.
B.Some good ways to keep healthy.
C.How to be successful.
D.Good ways can help people learn well.
