There once lived a doctor in our city, who was famous for his skills. Once he received a little child who was badly ill. Thanks to his skill and care, his young patient got well and was soon able to get up and run about again.
The child's mother was very much thankful to the doctor, and she visited him to thank him for what he had done for her child. “Doctor,” she said, “you have saved my little son. I don't know how to thank you enough. I feel that money alone cannot repay you, so I have made this little purse with my own hands, as a sign of my gratitude. I hope you will accept it.” The doctor stood up and said coldly, “Madam, a little present like that is very nice between friends, but a doctor needs to be paid properly for what he has done.” The lady was so surprised and hurt so much that she could not reply for a moment. Then she said quietly, “Perhaps you will tell me how much your fee is?”
“Fifty pounds”, he answered.
The lady opened the little purse and took out four fifty pound bank notes. She handed one of them to the doctor, and put the other three back into the purse. She put the purse into her handbag and, saying good bye to the doctor, went out of the room.

The summer of 2013 was full of reports of extreme weather: one of the hottest summers on record in China, the wettest summer in the UK, and the worst drought (旱灾) in East Africa. In short, extreme weather seems to be becoming the new normal. Weather extremes are not that extreme any more. Heatwaves, droughts and wildfires are the new reality of a warming world.
And this should not come as a surprise. Scientists have been warning for years that as the planet heats up, we will have to deal with more dreadful weather. Although not every extreme weather event is the result of climate (气候) change, scientists are now much more confident about connecting weather events with climate change. In 2011, the UK had a warm November. Researchers say that it was at least 60 times more likely to happen because of climate change than because of natural changes in the earth's weather systems.
All the news shows that climate breakdown is occurring faster than most climate scientists had expected. But isn't it too expensive to stop the climate from changing Well, yes it costs. So everything is just as usual. It would be wrong to believe that to let things continue as they always do is the cheap choice. Instead, it is very expensive. Just one example: droughts in the US, Russia and the Ukraine sent food prices to a record high. According to the World Bank, the price for corn (玉米) increased by 113% in some markets in Mozambique and in Sudan. This is the kind of cost that often gets ignored (忽视).
I believe intelligent climate action can help create new opportunities for jobs in Europe, for encouraging creativity and competitiveness, for spending less money on energy.

Avalanches (雪崩) are one of those natural disasters that can cause great damage and only Mother Nature knows when and where they're going to occur. Even with modern technology it's still impossible to know exactly when or where one is going to occur. Mountain climbers are wise to be careful, as avalanches kill many of them each year.
The physics of how and why an avalanche occurs is complex. There are times of higher probability. During the year, the transition from winter to spring will cause some snow and ice to melt, which may trigger avalanches. Also at daybreak there is a higher probability due to the temperature change.
While climbers hike up slopes (斜坡), some distance between the climbers should be kept. If an avalanche occurs, then there will be fewer lives lost and a higher probability that someone will be able to seek help. Since an accident is more likely to happen when a top layer of snow is loose, avoid areas where heavy snow or rain has recently occurred.
Try to choose areas that you are familiar with and stay in areas with rocks, bushes and trees. Trees and bushes allow snow to pile up and keep the layers stable (稳定的). If an avalanche occurs, trees will take the impact of the snow, so there is a better chance of being safe.
Climbers must also pay attention to the degree of the slope. Avalanches won't occur on level ground and there is little snowfall on very steep areas. The greatest danger is in areas where the slope is between 25 and 40 degrees.
Remember that, if you get stuck in an avalanche, there is no car hire available to take you to the nearest airport.
1.What do we know from the first paragraph
A. Many mountain climbers die of avalanches each year.
B. Of all the natural disasters, avalanches cause the greatest damage.
C. Most climbers who meet avalanches die for not paying enough attention to avalanches.
D. With the development of science and technology, avalanches can now be predicted exactly.
答案与解析 A 细节理解题。根据第一段“avalanches kill many of them each year”可知A项正确。
2.The underlined word “trigger” in the second paragraph probably means “________”.
A. make use of B. result in
C. put an end to D. slow down
答案与解析 B 词义猜测题。第二段主要讲雪崩多发的时间,故可以判断冬春季节交替时引起的雪和冰的融化会导致雪崩的发生。
3.Why is there a higher probability that an avalanche occurs at daybreak
A. Because daybreak is the coldest time of the day in the mountains.
B. Because it often snows heavily in the mountains at daybreak.
C. Because temperature changes at daybreak.
D. Because the top layer snow is loose at daybreak.
答案与解析 C 细节理解题。根据第二段“Also at daybreak there is a higher probability due to the temperature change”可知C项正确。
4.It wouldn't be a good idea for a climber to ________ while climbing a mountain.
A. keep some distance from other climbers
B. avoid areas where heavy snow or rain has recently occurred
C. choose areas that he or she is familiar with
D. climb up a slope which is between 25 and 40 degrees
答案与解析 D 细节理解题。根据第五段“The greatest danger is in areas where the slope is between 25 and 40 degrees.”可知,25度到40度之间的斜坡是最危险的,故选D项。

Researchers and many scientists are concerned that the earth's climate and atmosphere are becoming warmer than they should be. What scientists do agree on is that the temperature will continue to increase if measures are not taken to reduce pollution and emission (排放物) from cars and factories.
It is widely agreed that oil and coal create greenhouse gases when they are burned to produce heat or power. These emissions include carbon dioxide, which is the cause of most of the global warming problem. The loss of the trees in many areas is making the problem worse, because trees and plants absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen. The fewer trees that are left standing, the less carbon dioxide can be absorbed.
Scientists predict that the sea level will rise, ice caps (冰盖) will melt, and some animals and plants will fail to survive because their habitat will disappear. There may be more deserts and less available farmland because of the dry ground, and there may be more storms and floods in many countries.
Some countries, including the UK and the US, are taking steps to prevent the situation from becoming worse. There are programmes to educate citizens and students about the situation and recycling waste is becoming more common. New guidelines are being introduced to try to limit greenhouse gases from being produced by factories and businesses. Using more alternative energy sources is also a good way to prevent global warming.
One thing that everyone can do is limit their use of energy every day, and you can do this no matter how old or young you are. Try to limit the unnecessary use of electricity and work to conserve energy every day.

Fearne Cotton, TV Presenter
At school I often thought, “I'm wasting my time here.” Then Mr. Iggulden walked into our English class. He was tall and very likeable. I thought he was fantastic, though not everyone agreed. But he taught us in such an interesting way — unlike any of my previous English teachers. Rather than just reading books, he'd get us to act the stories. In one lesson, we watched a video of Lord of the Flies. Then he gave everyone a character from the book and the whole class read the book aloud. I thought it was much more fun than reading alone. Another time, he came in, said something that we didn't agree with, and we all started discussing it. Then he said, “Right, you've got top marks in your oral examination.”
I wasn't very good at English until Mr. Iggulden became my teacher. I used to get low grades, but as soon as I started his classes my grades improved. Sometimes we argued. He usually said I talked too much, but I think he liked my energy and interest. I'd never read poetry before, but with Mr. Iggulden, I read loads. He encouraged us to write poems too. I still write them and one day I'd like to publish my own collection.
I'd always wanted to work in TV, but Mr. Iggulden insisted I stayed at school where I could get some qualifications. He said there was only a one in a million chance that I'd achieve my dream. I never wanted to go to university and when, at 15, I got my first television job presenting a children's programme, he said, “Well done.” When the time came to leave school, I was upset about leaving his lessons but also looking forward to my future life.
1.What is Fearne Cotton's purpose in writing this text
A. To persuade more people to choose a teaching career.

C. He thought watching films was better than reading.
D. His lessons were different from those of other teachers.
答案与解析 D 推理判断题。由文章前两段作者对老师上课方式的描述可知这个老师上课方式与其他老师不同。
3.What does Fearne say about poetry
A. She wants to see her own poems in print.
B. She no longer has enough time to write poems.
C. She has collected the poems she read with Mr. Iggulden.
D. She disliked the poems she read before Mr. Iggulden arrived.
答案与解析 A 细节理解题。由文章第二段最后一句可知作者想发表自己的诗。
B
No poem should ever be discussed or “analyzed”, until it has been read aloud by someone, teacher or student. Better still, perhaps, is the practice of reading it twice, once at the beginning of the discussion and once at the end, so the sound of the poem is the last thing one hears of it.
All discussions of poetry are, in fact, preparations for reading it aloud, and the reading of the poem is, finally, the most telling “interpretation” of it, suggesting tone, rhythm, and meaning all at once. Hearing a poet read the work in his or her own voice, on records or on film, is obviously a special reward. But even those aids to teaching can not replace the student and teacher reading it or, best of all, reciting it.
I have come to think, in fact, that time spent reading a poem aloud is much more important than “analyzing” it, if there isn't time for both. I think one of our goals as teachers of English is to have students love poetry. Poetry is “a criticism of life”, and “a heightening (提升) of life”. It is “an approach to the truth of feeling”, and it “can save your life”. It also deserves a place in the teaching of language and literature more central than it presently occupies.
I am not saying that every English teacher must teach poetry. Those who don't like it should not be forced to put that dislike on anyone else. But those who do teach poetry must keep in mind a few things about its essential nature, about its sound as well as its sense, and they must make_room in the classroom for hearing poetry as well as thinking about it.
4.To have a better understanding of a poem, one should ________.
A. discuss it with others
B. analyze it by oneself
C. copy it down in a notebook
D. practise reading it aloud
答案与解析 D 推理判断题。阅读文章第一段可以得出答案,理解这一首诗最好的方法是大声朗读它。
5.Which of the following is NOT mentioned as a function of poetry
A. Extending your life. B. Saving your life.
C. Criticizing life. D. Heightening life.
答案与解析 A 细节理解题。根据文章第三段第三、四句话可知B、C、D三项都是诗歌的作用,而A项没有提到。
6.According to the writer, one of the purposes of teaching English is to get students to ________.
A. understand life B. enjoy poetry
C. become teachers D. become poets
答案与解析 B 细节理解题。由第三段第二句话可知,教授英语的目的之一就是让学生喜爱诗歌。
7.The underlined phrase “make room” in the last paragraph could be best replaced by “________”.
A. build a room
B. provide equipment
C. leave a certain amount of time
D. set aside enough space
答案与解析 C 词义猜测题。文章最后这句话的意思是“必须给学生留出思考尤其是听的时间”, make room在这里的意思应该是C项,表示时间意义,而不是具体的空间。

Y.E.S. — a small group of high school students is not just learning about the environment around them, they're actually doing something to improve it.
“This group has done a series of projects, from recycling about 600 pounds of tennis shoes, to over 50 cell phones,” said Patrick Merrick, a school teacher and Y.E.S. adviser.
The idea for environmental projects came about two years ago and it gradually became a part of an environmental science class. In class, students would learn about a topic, design a project, carry it out and then take it to the community (社区).
“Before every topic, we spent several weeks learning about the how, what and why of the idea,” said Maddie Frank and Shawn Hanson, students in Y.E.S.
One of the goals, Frank and Hanson said, was to find out how much energy their school used throughout a school day.
“We decided to carry out a school energy audit (审计),” they said. “We divided up the classrooms between the students in our class. Each student recorded how much energy was being used in each classroom.”
“We have been able to save money with the help of our school energy audit, make money with both the shoe and the cell phone recycling, keep a large amount of garbage out of the landfills (垃圾填埋地) with those recycling projects and make it possible for community members to use energy saving things,” Frank and Hanson said.
While the group is working toward making a difference in the environment around them, they express their thankfulness for people's support.
“Without the help of our community and school, we would not have been able to make these recycling projects possible,” Frank and Hanson said.

Being green is everywhere these days, whether it is in the school, factory or anywhere on the Internet. This is because our planet is in danger, losing resources, polluting resources and destroying ecosystems (生态系统). Different species are dying because we can't take care of our home. Now ask yourself why you don't want a green healthier lifestyle and to save animals. Keep that in mind as you read on.
There are many ways to be green, first of all, everyone should recycle; it's something easy and helps our planet in many ways. All you'd have to do is put recycling in recycling and garbage in garbage. Another popular thing is to try your best not to drive a car. Sometimes you can just walk, bike, or take a subway. This ensures that our air won't be polluted, which in turn helps our lungs and everything else on our planet. Next thing is saving energy. We can do this by not using too much heat or air conditioning in summer or winter. It's not preferable because it's hard, but you can try and put your washing machine on cold whenever possible and try to keep electronics out of the rubbish. What's more, remember to stop drinking from plastic bottles because plastic can only be used once and if used many times, it will become unhealthy. So you'd better use a glass or buy a reusable water bottle. The last and most important thing is, spread this news to the world and tell them what's happening in our world. I've only listed a small part of the endless possibilities to save this world. The least you can do is do the simple ones.

Many scientists are now exploring the idea of going to live on Mars. Some other scientists from the NASA Ames Research Center have already started the creation of a “Mars town” and many others are in fact already experimenting with it. Of course, these experiments are done on Earth itself but this “Mars town” has an environment practically like that of Mars.
The astronauts working in these towns wear their space suit and also do everything they would really have to carry out if they ever go to Mars in the future.
But Mars would be like Earth, a temporary (暂时的) place for humans. When the Sun starts swallowing up the planets, Mars will disappear only hours after Earth. So Mars only seems to be the ideal place to spread the human beings. It is also a good location to send humans if ever there is a disaster on Earth. By saying disaster, I mean asteroids (小行星) hitting and things like that.
If we humans do not want to disappear when Earth or Mars gets swallowed up, we will have to go and live beyond the solar system. But are there any planets outside our solar system prepared to support life Astronomers' answer is:
“If Earth can support life, why can't other planets do the same too Astronomers have already discovered a Jupiter like planet orbiting (绕轨道运动) a Sun like star, so why not an Earth like planet orbiting a Sun like star next?”
To achieve this goal though, many other problems have to be taken into consideration. How do we transform a dusty planet like Mars into one more or less like our Earth How should we go on There is still a long way to go.

I was fascinated (着迷的) by the images of the eruption of the volcano in Iceland. Legend has it that the early settlers called the place “Iceland” to make it sound forbidding to their enemies. But for me it's the fire that makes Iceland such a kick.
When I first traveled to Iceland, the first thing that caught my eye was a cloud of steam in the distance. It was a geothermal (地热的) lake. I couldn't resist taking a dip in the mineral rich waters that had been heated by the primal (原始的) fire.
Later I attended a horse show. Although it was June, it was cold. As horses walked in green fields, I grew increasingly uncomfortable. Finally, I lay down and curled up in the grass. Within minutes I could feel it — warmth. But it was not coming from me. It was flowing up from below.
On a day trip with an Icelandic friend, as we drove, he pointed out a rise of steam in the distance. “That's Hveragerdi,” he said. “An important farming town.” Farming town In Iceland Well, there were no waves of grain, but there were greenhouses that grew tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers, etc. These were built over steam vents (蒸气裂口), using the free energy.
We saw a burning pile of bananas outside one of these greenhouses. “Have you ever seen such a thing?” asked my friend. “No,” I said, “but in America there's a famous book that describes the burning of grapes during the Great Depression, because the price had fallen so low that it was cheaper to destroy them.” “Yes,” said my friend, “That's the way it is here.”
My friend's home in Reykjavik was heated by geothermal energy. We enjoyed hot tea and sweet bread. “This is delicious,” I remarked. “Did you bake it yourself?” “No,” he said. “It comes from Hveragerdi. They put the dough (生面团) on the ground and the fires of the earth bake it overnight.”

Going green seems to be a fad (时尚) for a lot of people these days. Whether that is good or bad, we can't really say, but for the two of us, going green is not a fad but a lifestyle.
On April 22, 2011, we decided to go green every single day for an entire year. This meant doing 365 different green things, and it also meant challenging ourselves to go green beyond the easy things. Rather than recycle and reduce our energy, we had to think of 365 different green things to do and this was no easy task.
With the idea of going green every single day for a year, Our Green Year started. My wife and I decided to educate people about how they could go green in their lives and hoped we could show people all the green things that could be done to help the environment. We wanted to push the message that every little bit helps.
Over the course of Our Green Year, we completely changed our lifestyles. We now shop at organic (有机的) stores. We consume less meat, choosing green food. We have greatly reduced our buying we don't need. We have given away half of what we owned through websites. Our home is kept clean by vinegar and lemon juice, with no chemical cleaners. We make our own butter, enjoying the smell of home made fresh bread. In our home office anyone caught doing something ungreen might be punished.
Our minds have been changed by Our Green Year. We are grateful for the chance to have been able to go green and educate others. We believe that we do have the power to change things and help our planet.

Today is Sunday. I've been in Canada for two months. This is the first time that I've been away my family for such a long time. With the help of Katia, a roommate of me, I've soon got used to live without my parents around. Katia, like many other Russian girls, are nice and lively. We became friends shortly after we met each other. Although her English is a little hardly to understand, we enjoy chatting and we usually talk a lot about our own family. We're both surprising that Chinese culture and Russian culture were so different. Now, we are planning a small party for the next Sunday. There, Katia will introduce me to some of her friends, one of who has been to China several times. I just can't wait.

The summer I was ten, my mother decided to bring us to the world of art. My brother and I were not very excited when we realized what my mother meant. What she meant was not that we could take drawing classes or painting classes but that we would have to spend one afternoon a week with her at the Fine Arts Museum. Before each visit to the museum, she made us read about artists and painting styles (风格). It was almost as bad as being in school. Who wants to spend the summer thinking about artists when you could be with your friends at the swimming pool
First we had to read about ancient Egyptians (古埃及人) and their strange way of painting faces and then go to look at them at the museum. My 12 year old brother thought this was so funny, but I was not interested. Later we had to learn about artists in the Middle Ages who painted people wearing strange long clothing. We had to look at pictures of fat babies with wings and curly (蜷曲的) hair and with no clothes on flying around the edges of paintings. I certainly couldn't see what was so great about art.
On our last visit to the museum, something happened when I saw a painting by a woman called Mary. In it, a woman was reading to a child. The colors were soft and gentle, and you could tell by the mother's expression how happy she was just to be with the child. I couldn't stop looking at this painting! I wanted to see every painting Mary had ever made! It was really worth looking at so many paintings to find a painter who could interest me so much.

For many years, artists have flocked to Paris, France, to paint or to learn to paint. Perhaps artists first went there because of the city's beauty. They went to paint pictures of the broad, tree lined streets, the great churches, and the graceful river bridges.
The artists felt comfortable in Paris because the people of the city had always enjoyed art. Paris had great art museums, filled with famous paintings and statues from many countries. And the people of Paris had always welcomed new ideas. In this city, artists felt free to experiment with new ways of painting.
As soon as famous artists painted in Paris, students came to learn from them. People came to buy paintings. People called art dealers set up galleries where paintings were bought and sold. Others kept shops that sold artists' paints and supplies.
Students and artists who were not yet famous could live in Paris for very little money. They learned by studying great art in the museums, and they learned from one another. They held art fairs, hanging their paintings outdoors along the streets.
Today, New York City and Florence, Italy, are also famous art centers. But the world's principal art exhibits are still held in Paris. Important judges of art live there. Most of the new ways of painting that have started in the last hundred years began in Paris. So artists and art dealers still go to Paris because it is the world's leading art center.

In a village in Uganda, a woman named Fatima Serwona ran a small store. It mainly sold necessary things in people's daily life. However, she had trouble making enough money to keep the shelves full. To stay in business, Fatima got a microfinance loan (贷款) — a small amount of money from a person in another country. It was just enough for her to buy a cell phone. Local villagers used her phone to make calls and then paid her for each call. This helped her make enough money to buy the things her store needed. Fatima could also use the money to send her children to school and improve their lives, as well as her own.
Microfinance is the practice of giving small loans to people in need. Most microfinance loans are for less than two hundred dollars. The loans are used to start or enlarge a small business, such as catching fish, raising chickens or selling produce. Lenders are willing to make these loans because most of the people who receive them are very likely to repay the loans.
Microfinance loans are important for several reasons. The businesses that these loans support often provide necessary services or goods to their communities (社区). Those who receive microfinance loans usually cannot get money any other way. Although they have to pay a high rate of interest (利率) on the money they borrow, the rate is lower than that a local moneylender asks for.
It doesn't seem like such a small amount of money could make a big difference, but microfinance loans have been shown to help improve people's lives and put new life into the communities like Fatima's.

School of Athens
This wall painting, located in the Vatican, contains pictures of many famous philosophers. Plato and Aristotle are the two in the middle. As an inside joke, Raphael based Plato's face on his fellow artist Leonardo da Vinci. He also included Michelangelo and himself elsewhere in the painting.
The Night Watch
Rembrandt is one of the most famous Dutch painters. This painting is huge (11 ft × 14 ft) and shows a group of soldiers leaving for a battle. Unlike earlier paintings which show people looking stiff (坚硬的), this picture captures their movement. Also, the way he painted the light emphasizes the three men in the front as well as a young girl. The girl has a dead chicken hanging from her belt — a symbol that they will defeat their enemy.
American Gothic
This is likely the most famous American painting of all time. “Gothic” refers to the top window of the house in the background. During the Great Depression, this painting became a symbol of the hard working and determined American people. Note that the pitchfork (干草叉) is mirrored on the man's overalls (外套).
The Son of Man
This painting is an example of surrealism (超现实主义), a style that captures strange dream like feelings. Magritte explained this painting as follows, “Everything we see hides another thing, so we always want to see what is hidden by what we see. There is an interest because which is hidden and which the visible does not show us.”

I turn on the light and put on my glasses. The house is still as I walk downstairs while my husband and three kids sleep peacefully. As I am near the end of the exercise, I feel extremely tired, but a smile is on my face. Land Art, sometim ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )es referred to as Earth Art or Earthworks, is a form of art which involves using physical landscapes to create art, taking art out of the museum and into the outside world. Modern Land Art movement really got going in the 1960s, when American artists began creating Land Art on a large scale. Today, works of modern Land Art can be seen all over the world, sometimes right alongside much older pieces of Land Art created by people who lived thousands of years ago.www-2-1-cnjy-com
Land Art, which is not ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) necessarily unchangeable, can take a number of forms. For example, in 1970 Robert Smithson created the Spiral Jetty (螺旋码头), made of a collection of stones and mud, in the Great Salt Lake. The American artist made a large jetty in a spiral shape which sticks out into the waters of the lake.2-1-c-n-j-y
Reshaping the ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com ) landscape is a common feature of Land Art. It can be created by moving components (组成部分) around. Land Art is ( http: / / www.21cnjy.com )designed to evolve (逐步形成), change, and eventually decay (衰落). How men first learned to invent words is unknown; in other words, the origin of language is a mystery. All we really know is that men, unlike animals, somehow invented certain sounds to express thoughts and feelings, actions and things, so that they could communicate with each other; and that later they agreed upon certain signs, they called letters, which could be combined to represent those sounds, and which could be written down. Those sounds, whether spoken, or written in letters, we call words.
The power of words, then, lies in their associations — the things they bring up before our minds. Words become filled with meaning for us by experience; and the longer we live, the more certain words recall to us the glad and sad events of our past; and the more we read and learn, the more the number of words that mean something to us increase.
Great writers are those who not only have great thoughts but also express these thoughts in words which appeal powerfully to our minds and feelings. This charming and telling use of words is what we call literary style. Above all, the real poet is a master of words. He can convey his meaning in words which sing like music, and which by their position and association can move men to tears. We should therefore learn to choose our words carefully and use them accurately, or they make our speech silly and rude.

Poetry is one of the important art forms of literature, and is an easy way to express your feelings. Moreover, everyone understands it in their own way. Some find relief in poems; some read them simply for peace; some read poems for simple artistic pleasure.
There are some special features of poetry, which make it quite different from other forms of literature. First of all, poems have rhythmic patterns. Generally most parts of a poem follow the same form of rhythm. Poems may have rhyme, but they don't have to. The lines are neatly arranged together so that they express a particular feeling or emotion.
There can be various types of poems but according to the pattern or the form, there are mainly three types:
Lyrics: The lyric mainly concentrates on human thoughts and emotions rather than a story. Lyrics always bear song like appeal. These are mainly short poems. Popular lyric poem forms are the elegy, the ode and the sonnet. William Shakespeare, Edmund Waller and Keats are some of the greatest lyric writers of all times.
Narrative poems: This type of poetry tells a story. Narrative poems are usually long poems. Epics and ballads fall under this type. Some of the greatest epic poets are John Milton, Dante, Edgar Allan Poe, Alexander Pope,William Shakespeare, etc..
Dramatic poems: Any drama that is written in verse is a dramatic poem. These poems generally tell a story. Black verse, dramatic monologues and closet drama belong to this type. William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe and Ben Jonson are some of the great dramatic poets.
Whatever the form is, one thing, which cannot be denied, is that poetry is one of the most powerful tools to express our feelings.
