Teaching Aims
1. To review some words and phrases about school life.
2. To review how to describe school life.
3. To know the similarities and differences between Chinese school life and British school life.
Teaching emphasis and difficulties
1. To review some subjects at school.
2. To review the school life in Chinese school and British school.
3. To review some adjectives to describe people and their opposites.
Teaching Steps
Step 1 Giving a very general revision of Days
Just give a very general revision and get the students to talk about the subjects in Chinese schools. Encourage the students to raise the questions.
( Encourage the students to speak out their favourites and reasons.)
Step 2 Talking about all the subjects we have
Get the students to name the subjects that they have at school. Help the students expand their active vocabulary about school subjects.

Step 3 Getting to know our friend
Listen and guess
Who is our old friend
Listen and judge
Have students listen to the passage two times. Get the feedback from the pad, then check it out.

Exercise 1:
Get to know the new words: gym, canteen, garden
Exercise 2:
Get to know more about our school: What kinds of clubs do we have
Step 5 Let’s go to the school clubs
Read and guess
Talk about the activities at different clubs. What club do you want to join
Think and choose
Scan the club information on the pad. Choose the one and give the reasons as the model. The more you say, the better you are.
