在"Let’s Check"部分,同样包含两个活动。"Listen and Number"中,学生会听到四组对话,然后按照对话的顺序为相应的图片编号,这个活动主要考察学生对本单元重点句式及对话的理解。"Look and Match"中,出现了四个人物图片,以及五个短语和两个单词,学生需要阅读这些词汇和短语,并将其与相应的人物相匹配。这个活动检验学生对本单元重点词汇的正确理解。
在"Let’s Sing"部分,歌词主要是关于"我的朋友",呈现了句式:"If your friend is tall and quiet, clap your hands." 学生学会歌曲后,将根据歌词内容做出相应的动作。
"Story Time"部分讲述了一个关于"拔萝卜"的故事。兔子找到了一个大萝卜,无法独自拔出,于是召集朋友一起帮忙。最终强壮的Zoom前来协助,他们成功将大萝卜拔出。故事简单明了,涉及的句子也不多,包括:"It's so big! Please help me. We're coming. I'm strong. Let's work together." 等。学生通过阅读故事,理解句子的含义,扩展词汇和语言,为将来的文本阅读做好准备。

Step 1: Warm-up
Play the song "Friends" and have students listen attentively. Teacher: Hello, everyone! Let's start our lesson by listening to a song. Pay close attention, please.
Play the song again and have students sing along. Teacher: Now, let's listen to the song once more, and this time, sing along with it.
Sing the song together, and students perform actions based on the song's lyrics. Teacher: It's time for all of us to sing together. As we sing, let's also do the actions that go along with the song. Purpose: Using a song as a warm-up engages students, sets the mood for learning, and connects with the theme of the unit, making them more receptive to the upcoming content.
Step 2: Lead-in
Display an image of Zoom and have students use learned adjectives to describe his features. Teacher: Look at this picture. Who is this Yes, it's Zoom. Let's describe Zoom using the adjectives we've learned. What color is he What about his bag Is he tall Is he strong Purpose: Using known vocabulary and sentence patterns to describe Zoom reinforces previous learning and prepares students for the upcoming story.
Step 3: Presentation
Pose a question to spark interest. Play the story video, have students watch attentively, and attempt to answer a question. Teacher: We know Zoom is strong, but what does he do Let's watch the video and find out. Teacher: What does Zoom do to help his friends Yes, he helps them pull the radish up. Purpose: The question piques curiosity and encourages students to actively engage with the video to find the answer.
Discuss the story content to ensure comprehension. Teacher: In the story, there's a radish. What color is it Correct, it's red. Is it big or small Yes, it's big, very big! Can the rabbit pull it up on his own Let's try to pull it up like the rabbit did! (Use gestures to demonstrate "pull") The rabbit can't do it alone, so he asks his friends for help. Who comes to help first The monkey, the dog, the cat, and Zip. But can they pull it up No. Who comes next That's right, it's Zoom, because Zoom is strong. Together, they manage to pull it up.
Replay the story video and have students read along, focusing on pronunciation and intonation. Teacher: Let's watch the story again. This time, read along with the video. Pay attention to how you pronounce the words and the tone of your voice. Purpose: Reading along enhances pronunciation and rhythm, helping students sound more natural when speaking.
Step 4: Practice
Have students read the story aloud individually. Teacher: Now, take turns reading the story aloud on your own. (Walk around to assist students as needed.)
Group activity: Act out the story. Teacher: It's time for some creativity! In groups, I want you to act out the story. We'll see which group does the best job! Purpose: Acting out the story helps students internalize language and boosts their confidence in using it.
Display images from the "Read and Match" activity. Discuss the pictures. Teacher: Zoom is strong, just like in the story. Look at these boys and girls. Do you think they're strong, too Let's read the sentences. Can you match the sentences to the correct picture Teacher: Let's see your answers. Look at the first picture. He has short hair, and he has a big green bag. Who could it be That's right, his name is James. Now, the girl in the second picture. She has long hair and orange shoes. Who is she Yes, she's Ann. And what about this tall girl She's tall and thin, and she's friendly. She also has a blue hat. Do you know her name Absolutely, it's Kate. Last but not least, who's this boy He's short and thin, wears glasses, and he's near the window. Who is he Right, he's Ben. Purpose: This activity reinforces students' ability to identify and describe characters based on visual cues and sentences.
Complete the "Look and Match" activity. Display pictures, have students describe the features of the characters, and then match them with the corresponding phrases. Teacher: Let's examine these images. Can you describe the people in the pictures Tell me something about their features. Give it a try! Teacher: Great job! Now, listen to the tape and number the pictures according to what you hear. Purpose: By first examining the pictures and then listening to match the order, students develop the habit of gathering information before tackling listening exercises.
Complete the "Look, Choose, and Write" activity. Teacher: Look at these two people. He is _____ and ______. That's right, he is tall and thin. And who's this elderly man It's Santa. What's he carrying A red bag. Now, the girl in the picture. Does she have long hair or short hair Excellent, she has long hair. Now please choose the correct words and write them in the blanks. Teacher: Show me your answers, please. Now, I'd like you to write about one of your classmates. First, fill in the blanks, and then tell us who you're describing. Others will guess who it is! Purpose: This activity assesses whether students can accurately match words and phrases and encourages them to use vocabulary and sentence patterns effectively.
Step 5: Summary Play the song "My Friends" and have students sing along. Teacher: To wrap up our lesson, let's sing the song "My Friends" together. Purpose: Ending with a song lets students review key language patterns and vocabulary while providing a fun and engaging way to summarize the lesson.
