中西方在接受礼物上的差异:
当面打开礼物是西方的习惯:收礼物时,中国人的习惯是不好意思当场打开,在中外一定要当面打开欣赏并说致谢的话:“我很喜欢”或“我正要这个”,你一定要有对礼物的评价和反应,主人会很高兴。
而中国人等客人走之后才悄悄打开礼物,一是不想给对方以贪婪的印象,二是中国人普遍注重礼物的实用价值,万一礼物不实用,或对方送重复了,也不至于使对方下不了台。因此,礼节告诉他不应该对礼物太在意。中国人的这种行为实际上是在向对方传达一个信号:我对你是否送礼、或礼物的轻重并不感兴趣,即便你不送礼物也照样受欢迎,也不会影响我们的关系。
