cheer … up “使振作起来”，如果是名词作宾语可放中间，也可放后面；如果是代词作宾语，代词只能放中间。

(1) require 动词，意为“需要；要求”，后可跟名词、不定式、动词-ing形式作宾语。

Your clothes are dirty. They require cleaning/to be cleaned.

(2) be of + n. +to sb. =be + adj. +to sb.意为“对某人是……的”.
I think your advice is of some use/of some importance to us.
= I think your advice is very useful/ very important to us.
我认为你的建议对我们来说是非常有用的\非常重要的。

wearing red是动名词作主语。it为形式宾语，真正的宾语是to take action，easier是宾语补足语。

wearing red是动词-ing形式，用作主语。it为形式宾语，真正的宾语是to take action，easier是宾语补足语。
take action 采取行动
make a decision 做出决定，下决心decision 是decide的名词形式。
difficulty n.困难，困境
difficult adj.困难的;
(1) have some (no, little, much, a lot of, a great deal of ) difficulty/trouble (in) doing sth.在……有困难
他们用英语交谈毫不费劲。
They have no difficulty in talking with each other in English.　

(2) have some (no, little, much, a lot of, great )difficulty/trouble with sth. 在…有困难
她作这样长的一个报告有很大困难。
She has much difficulty with such a long speech.
(3) with difficulty“困难地，费劲地”是副词短语作状语。
He breathed with difficulty.
(4) without difficulty容易地，不费吹灰之力地
He finished the work without difficulty.
注意：sth.+ be+ difficult+ to do
如：This play is difficult to enjoy.欣赏这部戏剧不容易。
have a good/ hard/difficult time (in) doing ...
在做…方面做得好/不好/困难...

make/find it adj. (for sb) to do sth. “使/发现（某人）做某事 ……” ，it为形式宾语，真正的宾语为to do sth, adj为宾补。
