Task 2 A leaflet about different festivals
Task description
Each pupil writes about a festival individually. Then in groups, pupils combine what they have written to make a leaflet about different festivals.

Task steps
Read the rubrics and examples carefully with the class. Practise the language needed for the task and demonstrate the steps by using the pictures at each step of the task. Revise the text type ‘leaflets’ on page 11 of the Pupil’s Book with pupils.
Part A
Pupils make notes about their favourite season and a festival in that season on the Copymaster. They describe the weather and special activities they do at that festival.
Part B
Pupils collect some photos or pictures showing activities that can be done at the festival.
Pupils then paste the photos on a piece of paper. Using the information in their notes, pupils write about their favourite season and the festival beside the photos.
Part C
Pupils get into groups and put their pieces of writing together to make a leaflet describing the weather and what activities could be done at different festivals in different seasons.
More able pupils could write about more than one season and festival and make their own leaflets.
