一、虚拟语气在非真实条件句中的运用

（1）wish后的宾语从句中用虚拟语气，表示一种不可能实现的愿望
与现在事实相反 wish+从句主语+动词过去式（be动词用were）
与过去事实相反 wish+从句主语+had+过去分词
与将来情况相反 wish+从句主语+would/could+动词原形
I wish(that) I were a bird and could fly freely in the sky.
I would rather you hadn’t told me about that.

(2)would rather后的宾语从句用一般过去时表示与现在或将来事实相反的事实，用过去完成时表示与过去相反的事实。

有时假设的条件不通过条件从句表达出来，而是隐含在某些词或短语中，或隐含在上下文中，常见的这类词有或短语有：

●without(要是）没有 ●in case以防；万一 ●but for要不是
●but that若非 ●otherwise否则 ●but而是;除●supposing假如 ●or否则
We could not have stayed together for a single minute but for a phone call.

五、错综时间条件句的虚拟语气
当条件句和主句所表示的动作发生的时间不一致时，就形成了错综时间句。此时，从句和主句根据各自谓语动作发生的时间采用相应的谓语动词形式。
If we had booked a table earlier,we wouldn’t be standing here in a queue
六、特殊句型中的虚拟语气
(1)“It is(high/about))time+that从句 ”句型中，从句谓语动词用动词过去式或“should+动词原形(should不能省略)，表示“早该做…；是…的时候了”。
It is time that we took measures to solve the problem.
是我们采取措施解决问题的时候了。

(2)if only表示“要是…就好了”，用虚拟语气表示愿望。与现在事实相反用动词过去式；与过去事实相反用“had+过去分词”；与将来事实相反用“woudmight/could/should.+动词原形

要是她多花，点儿时间准备这次比赛就好了！

在as if/thoug助引导的表语从句或方式状
语从句中，谓语部分常用虚拟语气形式，与现在事实相反用动词过去式；与过去事实相反用)与将来事实相反用"would/might/could/should+-动词原形

She talks about it again and again as though she would never end.
