一、序数词
序数词表示事物的先后顺序，往往和定冠词 the 连用。
★构成
方法 示例
一般情况下基数词后加－th构成相应的序数词 six — sixth thirteen — thirteenth
整十数序数词的构成是将基数词词尾的 y变为ie，再加－th forty — fortieth fifty— fiftieth
大于 20 的两位及两位以上的基数词变序数词时，仅将个位数变成序数词 twenty－two — twenty－second one hundred and fifty－three — one hundred and fifty－third
特殊情况特殊记 one — first；two — second；three — third five — fifth；eight — eighth；nine — ninth；twelve — twelfth
★缩写
序数词的缩写形式为：阿拉伯数字＋序数词的最后两个字母。
first — 1st　　second — 2nd　　third — 3rd　　fifth — 5th　　forty－fifth — 45th
★用法
(1)表示事物的顺序，其前一般加定冠词the，但当序数词前面有物主代词等修饰时，不再加定冠词。如：
◇The Yellow River is the second longest river in China.黄河是中国的第二长河。
◇Today is my ninth birthday.今天是我的九岁生日。
(2)表示编号，序数词在前，名词在后，序数词前要加the。如：the fifth lesson 第五课
(3)序数词前可以加上不定冠词 a/an，用来表示“又一；再一”。如：
I want a second cup of coffee.我想再要一杯咖啡。
二、名词所有格
英语中名词的所有格表示一种所属关系。
★构成
单数名词 加's Linda's book 琳达的书
复数名词 以－s 结尾加' the girls' skirts女孩子们的短裙
不以－s结尾加's Children's Day儿童节
★用法
表示有生命的事物的所有关系 Tom's schoolbag is white.汤姆的书包是白色的。
如果表示两个或两个以上的人共有，只把最后一个名词变所有格；如果表示各自所有，则每个名词都要变所有格 Jim and Bob's mom is a teacher.吉姆和鲍勃的妈妈是一位老师。(两人共同的妈妈) Jim's and Bob's moms are teachers.吉姆和鲍勃的妈妈(都)是老师。(两人各自的妈妈)
表示时间、距离、国家等名词的所有格 today's newspaper 今天的报纸
