I’m Kate, and my sister is Gina. I’m tidy, but Gina is not. In our room, my books and tapes are in the bookcase. My keys are in my schoolbag. I have a clock. It’s on the desk. Gina’s books are everywhere — on her bed, on the sofa and under the chair. The white model plane is hers. It’s under the desk. “Where are my keys Where’s my ruler Where’s my schoolbag ” Gina always asks.

Language points
1. I’m Kate, and my sister is Gina. I’m tidy, but Gina is not.
and和but都是连词，把两个独立的短句并列连接为一个较长的句子。英语中把这种由and 或but 并列连接而成的句子称为“并列句”。
但它们的用法却不同。见下表：
and 用来表示并列关系，意为“……和……” “……以及……” 用来连接并列的词与词、短语与短语、分句与分句。当and连接两个名词作句子主语时，当复数看待。
but 表示转折关系，意为 “但是，然而” 在句中连接前后两个意思相反或相对的句子。
【拓展】
①若and连接两个并列主语表示同一概念时，谓语用单数。eg: A writer and teacher is coming.一位教师兼作家来了。
②and可以连接两个并列谓语。
③and连接两个数词，译为“加”。
eg: What is one and two？1加2等于多少？
④and可以连接数词的百位和十位，可不译。
eg: 123　one hundred and twenty three
2. Gina's books are everywhere...
everywhere是副词, 由“every(每个)+where(在哪里)”构成，相当于 here and there，其前不能使用in, at, to之类的介词。
e.g. My grandpa takes his dog everywhere.
我爷爷到哪儿都带着他的狗。
everywhere adv. 处处; 到处; 各个地方
【拓展延伸】where构成的其他常见词：
somewhere 在某处 anywhere 任何地方 nowhere 无处
3. ...Gina always asks.
1) always 作副词，常用于一般现在时，在句中作状语，
表示频率。
2) always与be动词连用时， 放在be动词之后；与行为
动词连用时， 放在行为动词之前。
e.g. Paul is always brave. 保罗总是很勇敢。
always adv. 总是
(always 放在 be 动词后)
She always wears a white shirt. 她总是穿一件
白色衬衫。
