Task 3 Checking my eating habits
Task description
Pupils record what they eat in the next three days and then write a report on their eating habits.
Learning target(s)
KSa to provide or find out and present simple information on familiar topics
KSb to interpret and use given information through processes or activities such as describing, classifying and drawing conclusions
KSc to identify ideas in simple spoken and written texts, form opinions and express them
Language skills
Writing Provide personal ideas and information based on a model or framework provided Use a small range of language patterns such as different verb forms and structural patterns
Generic skills
Communication skills Provide, use and exchange simple information on familiar topics
Critical thinking skills Interpret and use information in written texts
Values and attitudes Develop confidence in using English through performing tasks on their own or in groups
Task steps
Read the rubrics carefully with the class. Practise the language needed for the task. Revise the text type ‘reports’ on page 22 of the Pupil’s Book with pupils.
Part A
Pupils record the food they eat in the next three days on the task sheet. Tell pupils to write down the quantity of each kind of food in the table.
More able pupils could record the food they eat for a week.
Part B
Pupils write a report about their eating habits on the task sheet. They write about the quantity of the food they ate at each meal. Then they compare the food they ate on different days.
You can tell less able pupils to refer to page 22 of the Pupil’s Book for the content of the report.
