Task 2 My plans for the new school year
Task description
Pupils think about what they want to change or improve in the new school year. They write targets for themselves and discuss their plans for meeting their targets with their partners. Finally they write their targets and plans as wishes to themselves and display them on the noticeboard to remind and motivate themselves.

Task steps
Read the rubrics and examples carefully with the class. Practise the language needed for the task and demonstrate the steps by using the pictures at each step of the task.
Part A
Pupils choose something they want to change or improve about themselves. They write their targets in the first part of the grid on the Copymaster.
Part B
In pairs, they tell each other their targets and brainstorm ways of achieving them. They write these plans in the second part of the grid on the Copymaster.
Part C
They then look at the grid and write out their targets and plans as wishes to themselves for the new school year on pieces of paper. The wishes are displayed on the noticeboard.
More able pupils could write more than two targets and plans.
