Task 3 A letter to Beeno
Task description
Pupils role-play Beeno and his mother about his day after extracting information from the letter in Part E (p.17) of the Pupil’s Book. Then they make notes about their own daily activities and write a letter of reply to Beeno telling him about their daily activities.

Task steps
Read the rubrics and examples carefully with the class. Practise the language needed for the task and demonstrate the steps by using the pictures at each step of the task. Revise the text type ‘personal letters’ on page 17 of the Pupil’s Book with pupils.
Part A
2 Pupils read the letter from Beeno on page 17 of the Pupil’s Book. They write Beeno’s daily activities and the times he does them on the task sheet.
Part B
3 Pupils get into pairs. Give each pair a copy of the Copymaster. Tell pupils to role-play Beeno and his mother. The pupil acting Beeno asks about the time and the one acting Beeno’s mother points to one of the times on the Copymaster and replies. He/She should also mention the activity Beeno should do at that time.
Part C
4 Pupils write down their daily activities in chronological order and write the times they do them.
Part D
5 They write a reply letter to Beeno telling him about their day.
6 More able pupils could write about more than five activities.
