Task 4 A poster for the school fair
Task description
In pairs, pupils make a poster advertising the school fair. They need to think of a date for / find out the date of the school fair, choose their stall from the options provided and decide what will be said.

Task steps
Read the rubrics and examples carefully with the class. Practise the language needed for the task and demonstrate the steps by using the pictures at each step of the task.
Part A
Pupils get into pairs. They talk about when the school fair is.
Tell pupils to think of a date for the school fair if your school does not have it.
Part B
Pupils make a poster for the school fair. They write the date of the school fair on the poster.
Part C
Pupils choose a stall from the ones provided in the task steps. They write the name of the stall on the poster and draw some things to be sold at the stall on the poster.
More able pupils could come up with a stall of their own.
Part D
Pupils talk about the prices of the items they are selling at their stall.
Pupils write the prices of the items on their posters.
Think of a date for the school fair or find out the date of the school fair by looking at the school calendar. Write the date of the school fair on the poster.
