Task 6 Show and tell: A fashion show
Task description
Pupils make clothes for the paper dolls they chose and hold a fashion show in groups. Then they introduce their dolls and talk about the clothes that their dolls are wearing.

Task steps
Read the rubrics and examples carefully with the class. Practise the language needed for the task and demonstrate the steps by using the pictures at each step of the task.
Part A
Tell pupils that they are going to have a fashion show.
Pupils get into pairs. Give Copymaster 1 and Copymaster 2 to each pair. They choose a doll from the ones provided on Copymaster 1.
They cut out the doll and talk about their doll.
Part B
They choose clothes from Copymaster 2 for the doll.
One pupil colours the clothes. The other pupil cuts out the clothes. More able pupils could design their own clothes.
They stick the clothes onto the doll and then stick the doll onto a ruler.
Part C
Each pair comes to the teacher’s desk with their doll to have a fashion show.
They show the class their doll and take turns to describe the doll’s clothes.
You could ask pupils to make a class display afterwards. They could stick the dolls on the noticeboard. More able pupils could write captions about them.
Choose a doll with your partner. Talk about the doll.
