1. 动词不定式可以用来补充说明宾语的情况,作宾语补足语。

I want you to give me some help.
常带不定式作宾补的动词:
ask, allow,
tell, want
+ sb. to do sth.
否定式:not to do
The teacher tells me not to clean the blackboard.
I want you not to give me some help.
例外:help + sb. (to) do sth.
make, let + do sth.

一感觉:

注意:
以上动词接不定式作宾语补足语时,若要表达否定的意思,要在to do前加not, 构成not to do的形式。例如:
Mr Han told us not to make too much noise.
韩先生告诉我们不要弄出太大声音。
Jackie told me not to touch anything!
杰基告诉我不要碰任何东西。
例外:
1. help后面的动词不定式可带to,也可不带to。
She often helps me (to) do the housework.
她常常帮我做家务。
We helped him (to) fix his bike.
我们帮他修自行车。
2. make, let 只能跟动词原形(do),不带to。
His words always make me laugh.

2. 动词不定式表示目的。(做某事是为了什么)

也可以说:
To improve his basketball skills, Dylan trained hard.
动词不定式作目的状语时,既可以放在句首,也可以放在句尾。
in order to do …可加强语气或使目的意义更加清楚。
