5.近义词辨析：across、over、through和past
①across 横穿，穿过，从物体的表面通过，跨越马路、河流等。常用搭配：go across，也常和表示“走”的一类动词连用。（如run、jump、walk、swim等）
go across the river 穿过河流
walk across the road 穿过马路
②over 表示“穿过、通过”时，指从物体的上方通过（常指通过比较高的物体），可以指到达山脉、墙、树等的另一侧。
（指“跨越…(街道/河流)”,across和over可互换，但是表示“翻过…”时只能用over。）
The dog jumped over the fence.狗跳过了篱笆。
They climbed over the mountain.他们翻过了大山。
There is a bridge across/over the river.河上有座桥。
③through 表示从物体内部通过，往往指穿过沙漠、森林、窗户、人群等。
go through the forest.穿越森林
The river flows through the city.这条河从城市的中间流过。
④past指从某物的旁边经过，“走过...，经过...”
He walked past me in a hurry. 他急匆匆地从我旁边经过。

二、句子分析
1.We'll meet him at the harbour early in the morning.
表示时间的短语如In the morning, in the afternoon等，可以在这些词前面加上early、late等副词，可以让表达的时间更清晰。
early in the morning 一大早
late in the afternoon 下午晚些时候；傍晚
2.Captain Alison will set out at eight o'clock, so we'll have plenty of time.
①set out 出发动身；开始做某事
We set out to solve that.我们着手解决这个问题。

三、语法
1.同位语
一个名词(或其它形式)对另一个名词或代词进行解释或补充说明，这个名词（或其它形式）就是同位语。
①Our neighbour, Captain Charles Alison, will sail from Portsmouth tomorrow. （Captain Charles Alison是Our neighbour的同位语，补充说明我们的邻居叫什么名字）
②He will be in his small boat, Topsail.（Topsail是small boat的同位语，补充说明他的小船的名字）
2.一般将来时
